Pathways to Property I am getting in touch from Pathways to Property, part of the Reading Real Estate Foundation at Henley Business School, University of Reading. Pathways to Property is a charity-funded initiative launched to raise awareness of and aspirations about the vast range of careers within the property sector. The Pathways to Property project has three key opportunities available for your students, all fully funded. We have previously shared with you details of the programme of activities, but we wanted to reassure you that these have all been adapted so that they can be delivered safely during the current Coronavirus outbreak. These are:
- Summer School - Open Online Course - School Talks
Please see more details of each below.
Pathways to Property Online Summer School The Summer School, which will take place between 20 - 22 July 2020, is a fully funded, 3-day programme held online for Year 12 students. This will be the eighth Summer School that has been run and whilst it is normally delivered in person at the University of Reading, we have adapted the content to create an engaging online course. During the event, students will get to sit in on taster lectures, virtually visit various development sites, take part in a group project, learn about the great career opportunities available and get to meet some of the top employers in the industry. At the end of the week, if they are keen to learn more about property, they can complete a funded work experience placement during a future school holiday, have access to our e-mentoring programme, and if they choose to apply to study Real Estate and Planning at the University, can apply for a bursary up to £30,000 over three years. To date, over 600 students have attended the Summer School and 25% of these have chosen to pursue a career in property – either through studying a property related degree at University or completing a property related apprenticeship. Applications for the Summer School will remain open until 21 June 2020, although early applications are encouraged as places are limited.
