Lead Installer for Solar Farm Construction
The Lead Installer heads up a 3-12 person team responsible for the installation of solar PV systems. The Lead
installer reports to the Construction Manager/Crew Superintendent, and is responsible for a safe, high quality
installation that meets the design specifications. The Lead installer is expected to work in a collaborative,
cooperative manner with other Crews and Lead installers on a job.
Requirements of the job:
Education &
Experience Minimum 2 year Associates degree or 5 years of commercial construction supervision
experience.
Solar installation experience preferred.
Experience in one or more related trades (e.g. carpentry, roofing, plumbing or
electrical).
OSHA 10 Training required
NABCEP Entry Level Certification preferred.
NABCEP PV or Thermal Certification preferred.
Skills &
Knowledge: Must be able to read construction drawings and diagrams, and can develop a work plan
and material list.
Effective at instructing crew members; explains what needs to be done and provides
clear instructions as to how to do the job.
Demonstrated knowledge of DC electrical.
Good math skills required.
Demonstrated application of construction safety practices & can develop and implement
a job hazard analysis (JHA).

Interacts well with other trades and partners on the job.
Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement of job methods and processes.
Has a clean driving record and can pass a drug test.
Punctual
Working
Conditions: Must be very comfortable working on/climbing ladders and roofs.
Uses power tools
Performs physical labor. May be required to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. or must ask for
assistance on anything over 50 lbs. May assist others lifting/carrying objects heavier
than 50 lbs.
Work is outdoors.
May require travel and overnight stays for jobs remote from the office.

Responsibilities:
Apply the highest level of workmanship to all elements of the job, instructing crew
members as to the job requirements and insuring a quality installation.
Maintains adherence to job schedule
Implements the QA plan for each job.
Make sure that power tools and equipment are operated in a safe manner.
Maintain tools to ensure a long functional life of the equipment.
Maintain inventory and tracking of the tools, equipment, system components and
hardware
Keep work areas, company vehicles and warehouse clean and organized.
Work on any other projects or assignments as directed by management.
