JMC SEALS SHOPS IN GANDHI NAGAR AREA.
On the instructions of Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation Jammu and
under the supervision of Joint Commissioner (Administration), the Enforcement staff
sealed three shops being constructed by Prachi Mahajan W/o Abhishek Mahajan at 784-
A, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu (one shop) and Ashok Kumar S/o Sh. Mulkh Raj at 784-A,
Gandhi Nagar, Jammu (Two shops) under section 8 (1) of J&K Control of Building
Operation Act, 1988 as the said structures were converted from residential to
commercial by installing shutters without the permission of Jammu Municipal
Corporation and causing nuisance, traffic hazard in the vicinity and much inconvenience
to the general public residing in the area who have complained against the same.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the General Public to refrain from
making illegal constructions and get building plans whether commercial / residential
approved from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action as admissible under rules
leading to demolition / sealing of the building will be taken.

of J&K Control of Building Operation Act, 1988 as the said structures was constructed
unauthorizedly and installed shutters without the permission of Jammu Municipal
Corporation and causing nuisance, traffic hazard in the vicinity and much
inconvenience to the general public residing in the area who have complained against
the same.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation appeals to the General Public to refrain from
making illegal constructions and get building plans whether commercial / residential
approved from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action as admissible under rules
leading to demolition / sealing of the building will be taken.

A Sale outlet for Agarbattis, Cloth Bags, Vermi Compost & Gau Ark inaugurated
by Hon’ble Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Sh. Chander Mohan Gupta &
Divisional Commissioner Jammu Sh. Sanjeev Verma (IAS) in the premises of Jammu
Municipal Corporation, Town Hall, Jammu in presence of Ho’ble Deputy Mayor, JMC
Adv. Purnima Sharma. Sh. Jeet Kumar Hon’ble chairperson of Social Justice Standing
Committee, Sh. Baldev Singh Hon’ble chairperson of Public Health Sanitation Standing
Committee, Sh. Suraj Parkash Hon’ble chairperson of Swacch Bharat Standing
Committee, Hon’ble Councillors and Commissioner, JMC Sh. Pankaj Magotra (KAS),
Joint Commissioner (A), JMC Sh. Ashish Kumar Gupta (KAS), Secretary, JMC Mrs.
Sunaina Sharma (KAS), alongwith officers/ officials of JMC.
The pure organic agarbattis for sale at JMC have been made from fresh flowers
collected by JMC from the temples across the Jammu city and the whole exercise of
establishing and manufacturing agarbatti units at Ram Mandir Peerkho & Press Morh
Bahu Fort with the aid from Indian regional Red Cross Society, was closely monitored by
Secretary JMC, Mrs. Sunaina Sharma (KAS) along with support from Secretary Red
Cross, Sh. Dinesh Gupta and under active guidance of Divisional Commissioner Jammu
& Commissioner, JMC.
The ladies self help group created with the help of Hon’ble councillors Mr. Narotam
Sharma (W.no. 3) & Smt. Sharda Kumari (W.no. 47) for manufacturing agarbatti at both
centers have put in stupendous efforts in promoting, making and selling of agarbattis
and this Self Help Group which shall promote employment & economic upliftment. Many
self income generating units shall be opened in near future within limits of JMC.
The cloth bags on sale in the outlet have been made by various self help groups of
women to be used as an alternative to plastic bags. The “Gau Ark” has been processed
from cows urine and “Vermi Compost” from cowdung of stray cattles lodged in JMC’s
Cattle pound at Dogra Hall

Apart from this, Enquiry Counter for instant guidance to General Public regarding
complaints/grievances was also been opened for convenience of the public visiting town
hall.

Commissioner, JMC reviews progress of pathway being
undertaken by JMC .
For face lifting of Peerkho area and to connect temples of the area, the
Jammu Municipal Corporation has undertaken a Pathyway Project covering 1.03 km
starts from Peerkho to Water Point, Panjtirthi near Balram Ji Temple. The Pathway
Project is being undertaken under AMRUT for an amount of Rs. 4.24 crores.
For assessing the progress of the Project, the Commissioner Jammu
Municipal Corporation, Sh. Pankaj Magotra (KAS) conducted an extensive tour of
Peerkho area and inspected the ongoing work of Pathway. He gave on spot directions to
the concerned officers for completion of ongoing work in a time bound manner and also
directed them to overcome the bottlenecks immediately, if any. As the said project is very
vital from tourist point of view, this project will help to attract the tourists towards
Jammu. Besides, to provide neat, clean and pollution free atmosphere to residents of
the area especially to the morning walkers.
Among others Sh. Jaspal Singh, Joint Commissioner (Works), Sh. Arun
Gupta, Executive Engineer (T), and concerned field staff of JMC accompanied the
Commissioner, JMC during the tour.

Jammu Municipal Corporation conduct a surprise drive in
different areas of Jammu city.
Today on 21.11.2019, under the directions of Hon’able Mayor Sh. Chander Mohan
Gupta, Hon’ble Deputy Mayor Smt. Purnima Sharma and Commisioner JMC Sh. Pankaj
Magotra KAS, Municipal Veterinary Officer, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal along with other team
members conducted a surprise drive in different areas of Jammu City to ensure the sale
of wholesome and good quality meat and meat byproducts to the consumers. The
surprise drive started from Bithindi, Narwal, Gandhi Nagar, Gangyal, Channi, B.C road,
CPO Chowk etc.
During the drive, various meat shops were checked and about 20kg of substandard
meat was seized and later on disposed of properly along with a fine to the tune of Rs.
6000/- was also levied from meat sellers selling unstamped meat.
Municipal Veterinary Officer has appealed to all the shopkeepers dealing with
meat/chicken products to maintain hygienic environment in and around their shops and
make availability of good quality meat to the consumers. He said that such surprised
drives will continue in near future as well to ensure that the consumers can get healthy,
wholesome and diseased free meat at any cost.

vicinity and much inconvenience to the general public residing in the area who have
agitated and complained against the same.

approved from Jammu Municipal Corporation otherwise action as admissible under rules

Jammu Municipal Corporation under the Chairmanship of
Hon’ble Mayor celebrated the 70th year of Constitution Day
The Jammu Municipal Corporation under the Chairmanship of Hon’ble
Mayor celebrated the 70th year of Constitution Day on 26th of November 2019 in the
Conference hall of JMC. In the celebrations, also attended by Hon’ble Dy. Mayor,
Commissioner and the staff of Jammu Municipal Corporation, the Preamble to the
Constitution was read by the Mayor and Dy. Mayor who emphasized the following of
Constitution of India in letter and spirit and to imbibe its values and practice the same
in true spirit. The Mayor exhorted upon all to discharge the duties as envisaged in the
Constitution with due diligence in the larger interest of Nation and the Society. The Dy.
Mayor spoke about the social justice aspect emphasizing the equality of justice for one
and all and impressed that the social justice to the economically backward and weaker
section shall bring them at par with the affluent class and dealt at length on the
constitutional provisions for ensuring social justice. Emphasizing on the importance of
the Constitution Day, the Commissioner, JMC informed that on 26th of November 1949,
the Constitution was formally adopted by the Parliament and signed by its members on
24th of January 1950. He further informed that there were 389 members of the
Constituent Assembly out of which, 292 members were the representatives from the
States, 93 members from the Princely States and 4 others were the Chief Commissioners
of Delhi, Ajmer-Marwara, Coorge and Baluchistan. The Constitution document
comprises of 234 pages with calligraphy done by Prem Bihari Narain Raizada, is
presently kept in a hermetically sealed case in the Parliament Hall. Later in the meeting,
everybody took pledge to uphold the Constitution of India in highness esteem and follow
the same in true spirit.

A year long calendar of activities to be done by JMC for creating awareness
of various aspects of the Indian Constitution amongst elected representatives, citizens
and staff, were also finalized during the meeting.
