13 people have recommended Jeffrey

"I've had the pleasure of working with Jeffrey at Phoenix Technologies and I recommend Jeffrey for his

outstanding work ethic and reliability. Jeffrey is a great asset to have on a team. He is extremely skilled with

computers including building them from scratch. Jeffrey is personable, always does the right thing, works

hard and is always on time. It is difficult to find employees like Jeffrey and it was my pleasure working with

him."

— Chad Guthrie, Assistant Plant Manager, Phoenix Technologies International, LLC., managed Jeffrey atPhoenix Technologies International, LLC

"Jeff provides the vision for Computers for Charity and is our go-to guy for any technical questions. He

oversees all facets of the organization, including technical advisor, volunteer coordinator, and fundraising. He

organized the Computer for Christmas event where a large number of Apple Macs were refurnished and given

to those who needed it the most. I believe he would be a great addition to any IT organization."

— Andrew Bahnsen, Project Manager, Northwoods Consulting Partners, reported to Jeffrey at Computersfor Charity

"I've known Jeff for over a year through my volunteer work with Computers for Charity. Jeff is a hard worker

and an all-round great guy who really knows his stuff when it comes to computer troubleshooting and repair,

and is willing to share this knowledge and experience with anyone who wants to learn. I've learned a lot just

being around Jeff and it's been a pleasure working with him."

— Buddy Castle, Volunteer, Computers For Charity, worked directly with Jeffrey at Computers for Charity

"Jeff is an outstanding leader and technical expect in information technology. He founded Computers for

Charity and has been the primary driving force behind the organization. One of his main strengths is the

ability to work with people with vastly different computer skill levels. Volunteers at Computers for Charity

range from novices with only basic computer skills to gurus who run their own custom built Linux kernels.

However, Jeff ensures that all can participate equally in the organization and and that they do not feel

overwhelmed or overqualified for the task at hand."

— Artur Maryamov, Volunteer Computer Technician, Computers for Charity, worked directly with Jeffreyat Computers for Charity

"I have known Jeff for over 7 years and have hired him on several occasions to repair my home computer. He

Page5

Page 6: Jk Portfolio

has been very effective and can communicate in layman's terms as to how computer systems function and has

taught me a great deal. Jeff has a wonderful sense of humor and an excellent work ethic which makes him a

pleasure to be around. I have also volunteered for Jeff's Computers for Charity in the past and have seen Jeff's

commitment to his community and his passion to assist the working poor. I highly recommend Jeff and plan

on calling him again in the near future when I mess up my computer!"

— Patrick Flynn, was Jeffrey's client

"Jeffrey has provided a number of our clients with computers and assisted them with problems in a timely

manner."

— Bob Barr, was Jeffrey's client

"I was the chair of Wood County Area Ministries and Computers for Charity is one of the organizations

included in our network. Jeff is a member of the WCAM council. He is reliable, efficient, innovative and a

valuable part of the team. He has also done work for me personally which proved him extremely

knowledgeable and cooperative. I have worked with him for around 4 years and would recommend him as a

leader, a technician, a teacher and a great humanitarian. I have always found him an uplifting colleague."

— Helen Dukes, Retired Pastor, United Methodist Church, worked with Jeffrey at Computers for Charity

"Jeffrey has various computer skills and he is willing to still learn new stuff for computer hardware and

software. He is very helpful and answers your questions in away your can understand and if not he will try to

explain better until you understand what you asked him."

— Abigail Neal, assistant office Admin, computers for charity, worked directly with Jeffrey at Computers forCharity

"Jeff is a real inspiration to those at Computers for Charity. He oversees the entire operation with diligence

and superior organizational skills. He is a great presenter. He is always willing to help those of us that

occasionally have difficulty figuring out our computer related problems. But most of all, Jeff shows

dedication in his work and compassion for those that he is helping. It has been a real pleasure getting to know

Jeff."

— Frank Butwin, Product Development Assistant, The Andersons, Inc., worked directly with Jeffrey atComputers for Charity

"Jeff is skilled as a computer technician and cares about serving people"

— William Thompson, pastor, United Christian Fellowship, was a consultant or contractor to Jeffrey atComputers for Charity

"It has been a pleasure to work with Jeff. He is highly motivated and enthusiastic about his endeavor(s). It

the intelligence and knowledge to serve in a way that benefits all involved."

— Dennis Austin, Surveillance Supervisor, Corporate Intelligence Consultants, was with another companywhen working with Jeffrey at Computers for Charity

"I have known Jeff for the past six or seven years as both a friend and a technical consultant. Jeff has set up

personal computers for me, my daughter, and granddaughter. He has maintained and upgraded them on a

regular basis as well as troubleshooting upon occasion. Most recently he installed wifi, setup a home network,

and integrated the two pcs, lap top, two printers, and my E-Reader. Not only has he been quick to respond

when I’ve asked him to add new equipment or solve technical problems; he has also been a patient teacher.

Whenever he installs new hardware or software Jeff takes the time to sit down with me and my family and

shows us how everything works. He has a great knack for explaining technology in terms that we novices can

understand. It’s always fun to work with Jeff. He has a wonderful sense of humor and his enthusiasm for all

things computer is contagious. He somehow makes the learning process exciting and enjoyable. While it is

clear to me that he has a great deal of technical expertise, he never talks down to people when introducing

them to new tools and skills. As a member of the BGSU community for the past 35 years (I retired from the

University Libraries last June, 2010) I am familiar with the important work that the ITS employees do. It is

critical that the ITS staff members are flexible, reliable, tech savvy, and enthusiastic. They have to be skilled

communicators and good problem solvers. Most importantly they have to like working with people. Jeff has

all those characteristics."

— coleen parmer, was Jeffrey's client

"Jeff is a very capable and dependable worker. Jeff also had a very good attendence record and will proform

the task you ask of him. His work ethic was excellent and really didnt need much if any (supervision). Jay T.

Hetman"

To whom it concern, I am writing to you on behalf of Jeff Kill, I have known him the past three years. During that time I have discovered several things about him, Jeff is an outstanding leader, a highly effective computer repair-person, and a person who helped me and others around him grow. Based on what I know about him I strongly encourage you to offer him an opportunity to go to work for you. Having seen Jeff in action I know he will more than prove himself to be a valuable asset to your company. Through the Computers for Charity Jeff has set up and organized several projects that have benefited many people. One noteworthy project he oversaw was the collection of Macintosh computers and preparing them for distribution among local families during the Christmas holiday season. And another project Jeff organized were the refurbishing of Windows laptops for a Christian Mission in South America that was using the laptops to help improve people's lives in that part of the world. Amidst being a great leader Jeff is also an outstanding computer guru. From doing workstation repair to network support he easily shifts from task to task pending the varying priorities of people's constantly changing needs. As more people from the surrounding community come to utilize Computers for Charity's products and services, the constant changing of people's needs lead Jeff to continually develop his skill set to better meet their computer related needs. During my involvement with Computers for Charity he has helped me grow. By having an ever-growing list of people in need of computer repair, Jeff has helped reinforce what I learned in books about computer repair by getting me constant hands on computer repair work. As a spin off benefit while doing the repair work Jeff would educate other interested people that later would lead them into active roles within the Charity help grow and expand the services the Charity was able to offer people in the community. In ending I highly recommend Jeff Kill for placement within your organization, for if I was in a spot to offer him a job I would. Regrettable I am unable to extend him an offer, in the IT Department where I work our budget does not allow it at this time.

Thank you for your time and consideration. Sincerely, Chad GambyIT Department Anne Grady Services 1525 Eber RdHolland, OH 43528Work: [email protected]: 419-260-2598

Letter of Reference for Jeff Kill

Dear Sirs:

I am pleased to submit a letter of reference for Mr. Jeff Kill. I have known Jeff for the past six or seven years as both a friend and a technical consultant. Jeff has set up personal computers for me, my daughter, and granddaughter. He has maintained and upgraded them on a regular basis as well as troubleshooting upon occasion. Most recently he installed wifi, setup a home network, and integrated the two pcs, lap top, two printers, and my E-Reader.

Not only has he been quick to respond when I’ve asked him to add new equipment or solve technical problems; he has also been a patient teacher. Whenever he installs new hardware or software Jeff takes the time to sit down with me and my family and shows us how everything works. He has a great knack for explaining technology in terms that we novices can understand. It’s always fun to work with Jeff. He has a wonderful sense of humor and his enthusiasm for all things computer is contagious. He somehow makes the learning process exciting and enjoyable. While it is clear to me that he has a great deal of technical expertise, he never talks down to people when introducing them to new tools and skills.

As a member of the BGSU community for the past 35 years (I retired from the University Libraries last June, 2010) I am familiar with the important work that the ITS employees do. There are constant demands for support and service from all the departments and offices on campus. It is critical that the ITS staff members are flexible, reliable, tech savvy, and enthusiastic. They have to be skilled communicators and good problem solvers. Most importantly they have to like working with people. Jeff has all those characteristics.

I served as chair of the Collections and Technical Services Department in UL for my last seven years at BGSU. I supervised more than thirty people (faculty, staff, and students) in a high tech environment. I am familiar with the demands on our employees in this time of staff shortages and technological changes. I can say with great confidence that Jeff would be a wonderful addition to the workforce. I give him my highest recommendation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at (419) 352-6046 or at [email protected],

To whom it may concern: I would like to recommend Mr Jeffrey B. Kill for any position in your company that fits his skills, especially his computer skills. Jeff has been working for three years as the Founding Director of Computers for Charity. Jeff and his foundation have helped many people both in the USA and in other countries. They were able to donate 300 usable laptop computers to our work here in the Philippines. These are used for poor but deserving students and are given out through Balay San Columbano Foundation. They have more recently donated two working desktop CPUs for use by a newly founded organization called Blood Brothers Aid, Inc which helps Hemophiliac patients to get medicines and financial help for this life long and devastating blood disorder. I am the founding Director of Blood Brothers. I hope you can find some position for Jeff in your company so that he will be able to continue also his volunteer work with Computers for Charity. To whom it may concern:

We have known Jeff Kill for about five years. Through our church and media and his fine set-up and helping him get started with Computers For Charity at Turning Point United Methodist Church.

He has taken on such a big project with considerable knowledge and much hard work. He spends a couple days a week after his work hours to take down old computers, monitors, keyboards and printers and restore with used and new parts so that people who are on low incomes or have never had a computer and gives them one from his fresh supply.

He has helped people from other countries as well as non-profit groups or just a plain common family in need of a computer to take home with little or no money in return. He always looks for donations if someone in their heart wants to donate but doesn’t ask if they can’t afford to pay.

Through word of mouth, internet and friendships he has received a lot of help by recruiting others from the area to help him because of the time that is needed for such a big project. On Tuesday’s or Saturday’s you can find him and a whole crew of volunteers he has contacted and they are all working hard at taking apart and re-structuring and rebuilding an almost new computer. All of this for free.

The man has a soft heart and a real go getter as a computer guru and one that an individual could go to with questions and how to advice for anyone who needs information or has problems with net-working, problem solving or computer solutions.

We would recommend Jeff for a computer job in your business or even an IT position if one should come up in the future. You may contact us at 419-354-6361or 419-575-0876 for verification purposes.

Sincerely.

Russ and Jean France, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402
