JIPEX souvenir sheets

For JIPEX 1936, two souvenir sheets were produced, each in a variety of formats, made from repurposed booklet panes. The top left stamp in the pane can be either the English or Afrikaans version. Furthermore, six panels in the top and bottom selvedge contained advertisements. These are classified on the following pages. All sheets read ‘Johannesburg International Philatelic Exhibition, 1936.’ at left and ‘Johannesburgse Internasionale Filatelistiese Tentoonstelling, 1936.’ at right. Some panes do not have perfs in the right selvedge -- these came from the right-most panes in a layout of 3x7. Thus, there were 14 panes with perforations at right and 7 without. There are 10 different arrangements of ads for the ½d sheet (not counting the perforation variety), and 21 of the 1d sheet. In the tables below, the third column records the regular booklet panes, without overprints. In these booklet panes, the right selvedge was cut off.
