Theme

• To eliminate Convexity after straightening in ISMC300X90.

The Process•After rolling, Hot bar is shifted on

cooling bed.

•Cooling of the bar is done by natural air and water spray.

•In the normal cooling process there is tendency of shrinkage of metal and

tendency of shrinkage of metal and bar having tendency of up sweep & bend.

•After cooling, bar passes through straightening m/c to straighten the bar.

•Straightening m/c straighten the bar and prepares it for cutting in customer length.

As per Danieli we were using two rings top rolls in ISMC300X90. we were facing convexity 1.5mm problem in this section.

We have observed that concavity is less in 15U universal roll. Resulting the issue of convexity in cold sample after straightening.

§ We have totally changed the danieli design of Top table. And used three rings of Beam section to get uniformly load in total finished depth of channel.

§ Modification in 15U mill stand. Concavity increased from 0.5mm

Concavity increased from 0.5mm to 1.5mm in 15U roll.

Solution For Out of square.

§ Bottom width increase 3 mm (From 288 to 291mm) by adding shim to avoid out of square problem.
