On our first full day in town, they took us to the colorfulneighborhood of Boca. Theautumn weather was niceand sunny like this for most of our stay in Argentina.
We were invited to visit Argentina by our friendsAmy and Nicolas. They’re from Montreal and are living for 5 months in Buenos Aires. Here they areapplauding tango with 2-yr-old son Nathaniel.
Nati waves hola in theJapanese Garden
We stayed in theneighborhood Palermo.
We coincidentally chosean apartment across the
intersection from Nati’sdaycare. Here’s the view
from our living roomwindow. Our apartmentwas cute but the streetswere noisy at all hours.
Cemetery inRecoleta where rich people areentombed
Ecologicalreserve with

Here’s a park full of dog packs. Each pack was under the care of a professional dog walker (paseadore de perros), whose job is to walk other people’s dogs. This is a common sight around Buenos Aires. I liked the pack of little dogs with curly white fur. The job itself looked laid back. We often saw the paseadores resting or chatting in the parks.
These catsare just a few of many thatwere restingin the sun outside the Natural History museum.
Public school kids wear lab-coat-likeuniforms over their regular clothes.
Day trip to the Parana River Delta
We rode a train tothis serene areanorth of the city, then took a boatride. Most of thepassengers werelocal residents.
Lunch at a cafe named after a common local bird, El Hornero
and saw cute homes on stilts
We walked aroundTres Bocas village
Iguazu Falls National Park
We saw animals alongwith the waterfalls in
Iguazu. There were lotsof black vultures at the
falls. Beautiful plush-crested jays (middle)
were not shy. We sawa coatimundi (below)
near one of the paths.
We saw an alligator in the river near the falls. Our shadows (above) are the closest you’ll see to a photo of us on this trip!
