Growing Church = More Complex

Growth requires organization, structure, process. We add:

1. Buildings.2. Staff.3. Programs.4. Budget. To pay for 1 – 3.

Which may be necessary to DO Church……but are not sufficient to BE Church.

Growing Church = More Complex

Since Church in its simplest form happens anytime two or three are gathered in Christ’s name, loving God, loving one another, & making disciples/learners, there may be:

• Many simple Churches within an organized church.• Many simple Churches being born, living, and dying

over the lifespan of a organized church.

Growth only becomes a problem

when the necessities of DOING organized church…

…crowds out the essentials of BEING simple Church
