April 2014 Volume 27 ISSUE 4
When Jesse Mathes first preached a sermon at Christian Life Church in Rantoul, my husband and I already knew
that big bear of a man from the Full Gospel Businessman’s dinner meetings and also Don had worked as an
electrician alongside of Jesse at several jobs where he was a laborer. We were acquainted with his Jesus is the Way
Ministry and enjoyed the yearly banquets at the labor union hall.
Our dealing with Jesus is the Way Prison Ministry took a different turn when it moved to Rantoul and Jesse’s
guys started attending Sunday’s at Christian Life Church, but especially at the Wednesday night teachings where
we broke into small groups to discuss what we had learned. We are able to see each man grow spiritually and
are impressed with the knowledge of scripture that comes from studying the bible at the ministry as well as their
personal study. This is knowledge that will carry each man through the difficulties that lay ahead for them in this
new life they have chosen. It was here we heard each man’s story and we realized two things. One was what a
sheltered life we had led!! The other was “there but for the Grace of God go I” (Thank God for his saving Grace for
us all!!) We celebrated when a man graduated from the program and was sad when one left prematurely.
Our relationship changed again when several friends and I began a non-profit called Missions R Us that raised
funds by having a food tent at the Historical Farm Days in Penfield and the Half Century of Progress show in
Rantoul. Our mission statement is “Equipping ministries to share God’s Word by funding special projects home
and abroad. Lending people and communities a helping hand.” We chose to support Jesus is the Way Prison
Ministries as our work began to grow and flourish.
Our excitement and support has now doubled since Jesus is the Way has found a man of integrity and passion in
the form of Dennis Daniel as its director. We know Jesse would be pleased at the vision for growth at his beloved
ministry! Growth for the number of people attending the aftercare program and Individual growth within each
participant! Spiritual growth in Christ Jesus and growth in the natural to become good and productive citizens
in society.
The future of Jesus is the Way Prison Ministries couldn’t be in better hands and my prayer is that all of you will
continue with your prayers and financially supporting Jesus is the Way Prison Ministry!
Sincerely
Debbie Deremiah

Recently some of our residents and staff volunteered at Books to Prisoners in Urbana. While incarcerated Louis wrote to Books to Prisoners, and received books and now he was able to pay it back by volunteering to help them with their book sale. Louis as well as the others were happy to help a great organization.
Save the DATE: August 22, 2014 for Jesus is the Way annual banquet.

Help Jesus is the Way by using goodsearch.com!Helping a cause you care about and making the world a better place can be something you do every day -- not only when you have time to volunteer or extra money to donate. This is what Goodsearch is all about. We give you the ability to turn your everyday actions into simple ways to support and raise funds for Jesus is the Way Prison Ministry.
Then, as you go about your daily activities, you’ll be raising money for JITWPM – at no cost to you! You can watch the dollars add up right here on the site. And, as you share your actions with your friends, you can inspire them to also make a difference every single day.
The three primary ways you can earn money are through searching the Internet, shopping online and dining out (but keep your eye on us – this is just the beginning!) Here’s a quick explanation of each of them:
• Goodsearch: Search the Internet with our patent-protected, Yahoo!-powered search engine (just like you’d search on any other search engine), and we’ll donate about a penny for nearly all searches to your selected cause.
• Goodshop: Shop at one of our more than 2,800 participating stores (from Amazon to Zazzle) and a percentage of what you spend will be donated to your cause at no cost to you. Oh, and by the way, there’s a big added bonus here too. Goodshop lists more than 100,000 coupons and deals so you could save money while doing good!
• Gooddining: Dine at one of our 10,000 participating restaurants around the country and a percentage of what you spend will go to your cause – again at no cost to you.
