Olll Denslow, Reportr

Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. LyleDenslow this week were MissMichelle Struble and her aunt,Sue Denslow.

Mrs. Lyle Denslow was hostessto 12 ladies at a party Wednesday evening.

The Sixth Grade classes fromall area Chippewa Hills schoolswere bused to Remus school. The children each are trying toearn their way to GreenfieldVillage, in Detroit. They areselling from their kits of goodselections of products. Therewas 1. very good selection ofthings to buy. Kurt Portenga waspretty good at demonstrating hisproducts, too. Later on, whenthe ladies at my party were gathering, the little boy came in,Kenny Reed, to sell the sameproducts. He also made somevery good sales. Mrs. Reed tellsme his sales totaled $42 for twoevenings. This is not bad for aSixth Grader.

Sue Denslow and Lynn Snyderwent to Grand Rapids Monday.Sue is going back to work aftera week off.

Monique, Kenny, Scott, andRonnie Reed spent Sunday afternoon with Sue Denslow.

This is a vegetable tip that waspassed on to me by a friend. Shesays the young, tender leavesthat are left after picking yourbroccoli are good for greens. Itried them, and they are verygood. Also, I picked some small, tiny cabbages, that came on thestalks after the main heads weretaken off, and they are very tender and sweet, different from thebig heads.Esther Stai4y of Weidman was

taken to CMC Hospital Fridaymorning.

There were 14 Trick or Treaters at this reporter’s home Hallow&en Night, and I just had tohave some pictures. There weresome little ones dressed as rabbits and kittens, Raggedy Ann,and Scooba Doo. Some werewithout masks, but were all fixedup with paint and old clothes.I always look forward to Hallowe’en, each year. To me it’s goodclean fun, and you get to meetso many kids from around theneighborhodd.

This reporter was on the UnitedFund drive for the month of October. It is interesting, as to theanswers one gets from contributors to the United Fund. I wouldlike to check out some of theirquestions and report back tothem. This gave me a chance tovisit with neighbors I hadn’tseen for a long time.

Mrs. Pearl Loomis spent Saturday afternoon with her sister-inlaw, Etta Skalitzky. Johnny andDonna Beutler called for her later in the afternoon.

This is Pearl’s address: Wood-ward Nursing Home, No. 1309South Bailey, Romeo, Michigan48065.

Mr.and Mrs. Karl Hartzler called at CMC Hospital Sunday evening to see their neighbor, Gilbert Schrock. He recently caughthis fingers in a corn picker. Hehad surgery again Sunday.
