I admired the work of some other artists whose work seemed so spontaneous, but I was too busy agonizing over the details. A lot of people in the poster world, inclding Victor Moscoso, told me I should go and see Bill. I had gone to a lot of Fillmore shows, and I had seen Griffin, Mouse’s and Moscoso’s work art and thought it was great. But I didn’t see myself doing rock poster art. My collages were
kind of intellectual. I saw them as visual poems.”
