Bullying is a serious issue that is widespread in our schools, communities, and on

social media. Over this past year, all youth councils were called to action to take

a stand against bullying and help raise awareness about this issue that impacts

youth around the county. Each Star Lights Youth Council was encouraged to

submit a 3-5 minute anti-bullying short film. We are proud of the research and

creativity put into each of the video submissions. Please take some time to

view all the video submissions on our Facebook page. Congratulations are in

order for our top three videos.

Join us for our very first Miss Star Light Princess

Pageant on February 7, 2015 in Orlando, Flori-

da . The purpose of the contest is to highlight

the community service rendered by our youth,

give our youth an opportunity to showcase their

many talents, bring awareness to the academic

achievements of our youth and raise funds for

self sufficiency of the Grand Youth Council.

Each Youth Council will be represented!

3 THINGS YOU CAN’T CHANGE - by Jeff Yalden

There are 3 things you can't change.... people, places and

things. The three things you can change are the people you

associate with, the places you go and the things you do. Re-

ality is the only power of change you really have is the power

to change the person you are. Do you ever look into the mir-

ror and look at your life in phases.....where you been, where

your are and where you're going. Let's not blame our life on

the circumstances around us but let's have the courage to

look in the mirror and realize the things you can't change

and accept the things you can change..... that's your attitude

and your choices.
