A Message from Mrs. Stolarz
COLONEL JERRY ROSS VISITED TODAY!
We had a very special visitor today: Colonel Jerry Ross! He was here as our guest speaker at the Student of the Month Breakfast and he spoke to our entire school at a motivational assembly. This is what our students thought of Colonel Ross and his message:
• “Inspiring, relatable, AWESOME.” Ariana Cornett, 5th grader
• “I learned that studying takes you anywhere.” Nicholas Wheatley, 5th grader
• “When he was talking about his job, I wanted to be just like him!” Celia Beatty, 3rd grader
• “I didn’t think that they had that much fun in space. Now I want to be an astronaut!” Alice Maloney, 3rd grader
• “Jerry Ross is an inspiration and we are so lucky and honored for our school to be named after him, and even luckier to have him come to our school.” Helena Grafton, 5th grader
• “He opened the doors to my imagination and beliefs.” Zoey Wells, 5th grader
• “It was cool how he showed us how fun it is in space. I thought it would be scary, but it was actually pretty fun.” Grace Tiernan, 4th grader
I have heard Jerry Ross speak dozens of times, but today’s message was especially powerful. Please ask your child about it tonight.
IT’S TIME TO CHECK YOUR CHILD’S PROGRESS
Can you believe we are halfway through the first grading period already? You can check your child’s mid-term progress by logging into RDS Parent Access and go to the new Buzz gradebook.
