Dear Graduates, I greet you, the graduating scholars of The Jennings Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in the
Matchless Name of Jesus the Christ of God; our Risen Savior! You have been faithful to God, your church, your families and your schools.
This is no small accomplishment you all have achieved. For the last twelve years you have been enduring the rigors of studying, serving, maturing, adjusting, rising victoriously, and managing new experiences and new challenges. Today is a witness to your success at this level of your life and progress.
You are to be commended and you should feel proud of yourselves for staying the course and completing your High School and or your College education. Eyes have not seen nor have ears heard what The Lord has in store for you individually and collectively if you continue in faithfulness to Him.
As you sit in the driver’s seat of your life, remember you and your Creator will write the next chapter. As you write, be creative, scholarly, progressive, faithful, committed, and determined. Write a Best Seller and make yourselves the main character and star. Let The Lord be your best supporting Actor watch Him support you to an Oscar performance!
So, as you go forth, remember the words from Isaiah 40:30, & 31; “Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young [women and] men shall utterly fall: 31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
May The Lord bless and prosper every effort you make and may He always keep the wind at your back, the Son on your face, humility on your knees, faith in your spirit, and hope in your heart!
God bless each of you as you tackle the world and become the next leaders for success! Never forget where you came from and you will always know where you are going!
Yours in the Service of Our Lord, Rev. Charles E. Holbrook Presiding Elder
The Jennings Temple Church
Dear Graduates,
I'm excited about this month because among other things, we are celebrating the graduation of some of our church family's young people. They are graduating from high school and college. Scripture tells us to rejoice when anyone in our Christian family rejoices, so on graduation days in this month, we will be praying special prayers to honor these special people who have persevered.
I've heard several people over my life ask or tell me the difference between a freshman and a mature senior graduate. Most of us know that the sophomore is the one who may have the tendency to think they already know everything. The mature senior, however, after graduating has the tendency to look back after completing all those years of hard work and thinking "after all I had to learn, I now realize how much more I don't know."
Maybe we'll have lots of graduations our entire life, which can remind us that once again we haven't come to the end, but we're just experiencing another opportunity to begin taking another bite out of all there is in front of us that we cannot see. If we live in this kind of mind set, we might tend to cling harder to our Lord who has infinite knowledge and promises to never let go of us through the situations we don't yet know.
It is my prayer that all the graduates develop that relationship with Jesus Christ, the God that The Jennings Temple Church family introduced to you. Always remember... through Christ you have made it to this season of your life by His grace. And that same wonderful grace will bring you over any challenge life brings your way. The closer you come to Jesus the brighter your future will be. Congratulations and God Bless all your future endeavors. Rev. Willie R. and Mrs. Sheila A. Jones

Dear Graduates, have dreams! And, as Amanda Bradley says:
Follow your Dream. Take one step at a time and don’t settle for less.
Just continue to climb…
Follow your dream. If you stumble, don’t stop and lose sight of God.
Press to the top. For only on top can we see the whole view.
We can see what we’ve done and what we can do.
Can we then have the vision to see something new.
Press on, follow your dreams.

We continue to journey into our future through Higher Education, Christian Service, and Prayer
A Graduate's Prayer
Dear Lord, As I look toward the future, bright hope conducts this prayer, for I know the plans You have for me, were wrought with divine care. Holy Spirit, lead me. Let me run at Your command, Yet be still and know that You are God, when trouble is close at hand. Your Word will be a lamp for me, a guide to light my way, a solid place to set my feet, a compass when I stray. May I live my life to praise You, not for fortune, nor for fame, May everything I say and do bring glory to Your name. May my eyes stay fixed upon You as I seek the way that's pure, Tasting Your love and goodness, sleeping and rising secure. Planted by Your living streams I'll delight in all Your ways, Hidden by Your sheltering wings with new mercies for each day. Even in a dangerous land when storms threaten to destroy, at the cross I'll stand upon the Rock, my Strength, my Hope, my Joy. Dear Lord, show me Your favor, at all times keep me blessed, May Your face ever shine upon me, with peace and perfect rest. Amen.
