I walk the street in quiet haste. !Passing sleeping, Shadows—dusky and silent.

Spurred on by shapes and shades warning of peril, I

hurry through the dark on twisting streets and narrow paths. !

In tangled turns I move onward with blurred and glassy eyes, and quaking legs. !

Curved and swirling, roads weaving, winding, whirling. !Pacing past empty allies of dim, dismal dread. !

With thoughts of her girlish glee, her sultry, sweet delight !

I walk the street in quiet haste. !Soon to meet. !
