Inspired by the grand brasseries of Europe, Café Riggs offers traditional grace through a reimagined lens to bring a modern restaurant to D.C. Located on the ground floor of the hotel, the restaurant serves an all-day menu from the bar, café and dining room.

The bright and airy restaurant is instantly welcoming with the addition of the velvet crimson drapery and soft textured furniture in a color palette of soft blues, yellows, and plum red custom made by the hotel’s interior designer – set against a backdrop of Corinthian columns, classically inspired stonework and a soaring ceiling. In addition to the distinctive bespoke furnishings, the bar at the restaurant is the living room of the hotel alongside a distinctive glass display case two-stories tall with supersized, handmade sculptural flowers in a variety of bright colors.

Silver Lyan—nestled in the lower level of the hotel, the bank building’s former vault—is the first bar outside of Europe created by acclaimed London-based cocktail trailblazer Ryan Chetiyawardana, a.k.a. Mr Lyan. This jewel box subterranean bar pays playful tribute to America’s complex history with globally-inspired cocktails and shareable plates.

Our Cabinet Room is the perfect place to host a bachelor or bachelorette party or post wedding reception up to 30 guests with curated cocktails and light snacks – all designed to be exchanged with others. The room features participation trophies as a way of nodding to the idea of optimism and engagement, a fitting space to celebrate preciousness.

Once the boardroom of “the Bank of Presidents,” the spacious, entertainment Riggs Suite can hold small gatherings up to 25 guests and features original stone work and delicate architecture. The room includes a large table seated for 12, a wet bar and lounge seating. Two interconnecting deluxe king guest bedrooms allow up to four overnight guests.

The Apartment-style Riggs Suite complements the Classical style of the room with plaster busts that highlight the vaulted ceiling arches, chandeliers to elevate the soaring ceilings and the restored stone fireplace mantelpiece. The palette is light and classic, with accents of colour and textures throughout. Much of the furniture is vintage and antique collected over the last few years for this particular suite.

An eclectic mix of female portraits, all confident and elegant in their own way, surround the room. The space offers abundant natural light, open and grand views of the Portrait Gallery, historic buildings and views across F Street.
