Why mobile TV ? Why now ?Why mobile TV ? Why now ? 12

We know there existed many trials and real services in Europe, in the United States, in Korea, and also in Japan.

But There is no successful business model right now. ⇒ Is there any possibility for mobile TV in near future?

☆Our investigation results are ;1. Mobile TV is not just watching TV in mobile condition.

⇒ Something new additional value is needed. ⇒ Original format of program should be invented

with collaboration with SNS, and internet.

2. Price range should be different from Pay TV services.⇒ We define our service as one of smart phone

application services. ⇒ It means the price should be in between 300 to

500 yen per month.

Summary and Future OutlookSummary and Future Outlook 24

NOTTV targets 6 million subscribers by 2017; along with 50 million compatible devices penetration by 2018, a half billion dollar business in the future.

Viewership acquisition on mobile devices is very different from that of traditional television.

Difficult business to be launched –require trans-industrial collaboration, including broadcasting stations, telecom operators, manufacturers, and regulatory agencies.

Significantly high interests from the world; expecting a wave of world-wide emergence of Mobile Broadcasting (regardless of technology standard) during 2010s.

NOTTV aims to be the test bed of Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting; incubating new kinds of television programs and leveraging the power of telecom (Internet) and broadcasting.
