Our 7th Hog Raffle

We have had so much fun and success with this raffle since we introduced it that we just knew we had to bring it back again tonight!!! So here we go again!!

It’s simple really, we have a few decks of standard playing cards. We will begin by selling individual cards for $5.00 or three cards for $10.00. When you purchase a card, we’ll tear your card in half. You keep one half and the other goes into the bin for the drawing. We will begin selling chances as soon as the Lounge opens for the Auc-tion and will continue right up to the actual drawing time. When we reach the time in the Auction for the drawing, you’ll have one last opportunity to purchase cards. Once all the cards are in the bin, we’ll draw two winning cards and each winner will receive half of a hog to have butchered and processed just they way they want it.

But this is no ordinary hog, this a Berkshire hog from the farm of Rotarian Larry Thomsen, who has so generously donated this year’s prize hog!! So what is so special about a Berkshire hog? Rotary’s PolioPlus efforts have very nearly eradicated polio from our planet! We have it down to just 2 countries, as Nigeria was declared “Polio Free” last year. With the help of a matching grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Founda-

S53. Another Hawk Great! Bobby Hansen was certainly one of the greatest Hawks to ever to roam the floor of Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Han-sen was a key part of perhaps

the greatest Hawk team of all time in 1980, and he was the team MVP in his senior year in 1983. He then went on to a successful NBA career, mostly with the Utah Jazz who drafted him in the third round. He
