AriannaAvenue Gilbert, Arizona 85298 ph: 602-721-4010 I am in receipt o f th e March 21, 2011 "Memorandum" you sent to Chief Matthew Reimondo regarding the complaint filed against me. I am relieved, bu t no t surprised b y the finding an d being a criminal justice major delighted that the justice system actual worked th e wa y it should. I ha d maintained my innocence from the very start o f his matter. I write to yo u because I am still very concerned, as I was, at the very start o f this matter h ow it all transpired. In your memorandum yo u stated the investigation wa s requested by Sgt. Gary Kelly, in fact it wa s requested by Chief Matt Reimondo th e day he was furloughed. As Mr. Reimon do was removing his personal belongings from his office he directed Sgt. Kelly to meet him at the public works garage while he was being driven home. He stated he had something to give him. At th e public works garage, where he met Sgt. Kelly, he directed another police officer; Sgt. Green wh o was giving the Chief a ride home to "pop the trunk." At this point Matt Reimondo grabbed the case file, which had been sitting in his trunk, from sometime in Ma y until the da y he wa s furloughed and handed it to sergeant Kelly hi s exact words to Sgt . Kelly were "get this up to Liston's office an d ge t O'Keefe "pinched" (there is an eye witness wh o saw and overheard this exchange take place). Attorney Liston in all my years o f public service this is one of th e most egregious abuses o f power, in on e o f th e highest offices o f municipal government that I have ever witnessed. At a minimum it is retaliation against me, at its worst it's criminal. Furthermore, it came to my attention that at the July 18,2011 meeting yo u reference in your report that Sgt . Kelly said something to the effect, "Well i f we can't get him for sexual assault can we at least pinch O'Keefe for disorderly conduct." What both these incidents suggest to me is that if indeed there wa s an y form o f 'retaliation' being done it wa s being orchestrated against me in light o f Mr. Reimondo's furlough. Additionally, the close an d sometimes intimate personal relationship that Mr. Reimondo had with all three complainants, as well as with Sgt. Kelly, suggest even more collusion and orchestration o f an attempt to topple my administration, defame my character and ruin an otherwise unblemished 25 year career in publi c service. It wa s stated to me that after Mr. Reimondo tu rned over the complaints to the Towns
