JCPL Database of the Month...

I t’s a New Year, and as is often the case, we find ourselves reviewing the year passed,

even as we consider the year that lies ahead.

In 2015:

Our Overdrive eBook service grew in

popularity with over 14,000 titles downloaded

To meet the digital needs of local students we introduced a Digital Access Card in a pilot

program and created a Student Portal for

easy access to eResources

We purchased Little Bits Electronic Kits to enhance our children’s programs and promote STEM (Science, Technology,

Engineering, and Mathematics) at the library

We participated in the seven-county literacy initiative, Books to Bridge the Region. This

year’s theme was ‘Secrets We Keep’

Each of our libraries hosted The Iditarod Program with speaker, Karen Land, a fun

program for all ages

We celebrated the 10th birthday of our

newest library, the Wheatfield Library

We kicked off Indiana’s Bicentennial Celebration with Indiana-themed

refreshments at each of our libraries on

December 11, 2015

We digitized our yearbooks. Be watching for further announcements about this project in
