Radnor Heights Substation: A Dominion Virginia Power (DVP)and Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall (JBM-HH) partnering project to install a new 3.7 mile 230kV high voltage transmission line and electrical substation on JBM-HH. Project was designed to increase the reliability and redundancy for the installation and surrounding neighborhoods. Project Review:

Project conceived between DPW and DVP: January 2009 Joint Base Commander's Approval: June 2009 Utility Regulatory Commission Approval: July 2010 Historical Agencies Construction Approval: July 2011 Ground Breaking: August 2011 Construction Completion: December 2012 Fully Operational: February 2013

The substation met rigorous standards for noise control, visual screening, and architectural compatibility on the historic base.
