    December 2007 GLUCON: The Hypoglycemic Activity of Yacon (Smallanthussonchifolius) on Alloxan-Induced ICR Mice (Mus musculus)Official Entry of Quezon City Science High School to the InternationalEnvironmental Project Olympiad 2008, this research studied and analyzedthe hypoglycemic (blood sugar decrease) effect in ICR mice induced with

    Alloxan, a chemical that promotes hyperglycemia (blood sugar increase),after administering a diet of Yacon tubers for several weeks. Usingstatistical methods, it was proven that Yacon tubers significantlydecreased the blood sugar levels of Alloxan Induced ICR Mice.

    Born on September 22, 1992 in the City of Manila, Philippines. Able tospeak in English and Filipino. Knowledgeable in programs such as theMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Powerpoint and Excel), Adobe Photoshopand Pagemaker, PowerDirector and Windows Movie Maker. Has relevant
