Singh insinuated that a mole had existed in the
Prime Ministerial Office during the tenure of PrimeMinister P. V. Narasimha Rao, who had leaked
information to American
sources. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh challenged
him to name the mole.
Jaswant Singh then backed off, saying his views on
the sub ect were based on a "hunch.

He claimed Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's centralised polity
was responsible for partition.
He praised Jinnah and held Nehru and Sardar Vallabhaipatel responsible for partition of India and Pakistan
He was later expelled from the primary membership of
BJP as a result of the ensuing controversy

Jaswant Singhs Book titled Jinnah, India, Independence
and Partition, released on August 17, 2009
Jaswant Singh has squarely put the blame for partition
of India in 1947 on Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai
Patel and the Congress rather than Quaid-i-AzamMuhammad Ali Jinnah.
Jaswant Singh goes on to say that the Indian leaders had
not only misunderstood Jinnah but made a demon out ofhim.

RESULT OF CONTROVERSY Jaswant Singh has been sacked by the Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP) for writing a book praisingPakistans founder Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
His Book was banned in Gujrat.
Jaswant, a former external affairs, defence and
finance minister, has been criticised by senior BJPand Sangh Parivar leaders for heaping praise onPakistans founder in his book Jinnah - India,
Partition, Independence.
