15 September Travel from Haneda to Bangkok.
16 September
Travel to Thammasat University (TU) with the following chronological events:
a) meeting Prof. Nakhorn and Prof. Krisada and their students.
b) presentations (self-introduction and Japanese world heritage sites) by the
students of Saitama University (SU), followed by discussions.
c) research presentations by the students of TU.
d) tour of research facilities and the entire campus of TU.
17 September TU’s student arranged programme for the students of SU to visit places of interest
in Bangkok.
18 September Free activities by SU students.
19 September
Travel to Ayutthaya with Prof. Nakhorn and his students. Various places of
interest included:
a) Wat Chai Wattanaram: for field survey of the status of existing remains, to
learn about the active flood control measures.
b) Japanese village (site of the old Japanese settlement in Ayutthaya): to
learn about the history of Japanese settlement in Ayutthaya and at the
same time the importance of Ayutthaya as the centre of trade in 16th and
17th century.
c) Wat Yai Chai Mongkon: as a part of cultural tour.
d) Wat Maha That: as a part of cultural tour.

20 September
Technical site visits to:
a) precast concrete factory Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public
Company Limited (STECON).
b) new Thai parliament building construction site.
21 September Preparation of presentations by SU students summarizing their activities in
Thailand.
22 September
Travel to TU with the following chronological events:
a) presentations by SU students in front of TU students and Prof. Nakhorn,
followed by discussions.
b) technical presentation by a TU student who spent 3 months as a research
exchange student at SU.
c) final team building exercise between TU and SU students.
23 September Free activities and sightseeing by students in the morning. Departure to the
airport for the travel to Haneda in the afternoon.
24 September Arrive at Haneda.
