The Estate Veneer Collection™can be used to clad the entire project. From below grade to architectural trim elements and veneer up to the cornice and coping. Stone Express™ with StoneGuard™ has proven its extreme durability through laboratory testing to stand up to the ultimate stresses - weather and time. It is a superior-quality, highly durable architectural stone product that can be used at or below grade for the best performance.

Estate Colors™: choose from three of our most popular colors; they work harmoniously with almost any other building material and color. Many Estate Color™ items are in stock and available today!

Standard Colors: these are generally earth tones, most commonly used in building construction. limestones, bluestones, brownstones and terracottas are designed to compliment stucco, adhered masonry veneer, brick and of course the Stone Express Collection™. All of these colors are included in the pricing you will receive from your sales representative.

Premium Colors: these are generally the colors in the pastel ranges and deep hues. They cost a little more to manufacture but are magnificent. There is an additional charge for these colors.

Custom Colors: Deep blue, rain forest green, safety yellow? Sea shells, black obsidian or crystal white aggregates? No problem; we can create a color and texture to work in any environment or within any color palette. There is an additional charge and lead time for these colors.

Stone Express™ Window Sills protect against water damage and add a classically inspired timeless sophistication to your project. Profiles are designed to compliment your architectural design and be simple to install.

• Slip sills are the same width as your window.

• Lug sills project out from the window allowing the window jamb to rest on it. They may be used with or without stone jambs and are a classic detail.

• When ordering the window sills; keep the location of the vertical joints in relationship to the window mullions in mind. If you have a two-light window, order one left and one right unit. If you have a three-light window, you may want to order on left, one right and one straight unit.

• Use in thin veneer, adhered masonry veneer and traditional masonry applications.

Stone Express™ Base courses and water tables. These are powerful, traditional architectural building elements that lend strength and style to any structure. They typically transition to window sills and other ornamentation and provide continuity to your project. Practically the water table is used to deflect water running down the face of a building away from lower courses or the foundation, though they are often primarily decorative. A water table may be found near the base of a wall or at a transition between materials, such as from stone to brick.

Q U O I N SStone Express™ Quoins are an architectural feature element used to create a corner, giving visual contrast within the masonry. Quoins can be used with stucco, brick or stone veneers to tie the building together while projecting fortitude and elegance.

• Single piece “L” shaped corner unit.• Two piece assembly that forms an “ L” shaped

corner unit. • Stacked on top of one another or divided by other

exterior cladding.• The same length or alternate in size. • Quoins are designed to fit standard brick

coursing. Additional sizes and finishes may be requested. They are special order items and may require additional lead time.

EFFLORESCENCE ON CAST STONE / NATURAL STONE: Efflorescence is a white haze that sometimes presents on masonry projects. It is generally a temporary condition that will diminish over time. It can be cleaned off with masonry detergents. It is important to make sure that wall cavities can breathe properly and are flashed / waterproofed correctly. This will help prevent efflorescence from occurring.

CAST STONE & NATURAL STONE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURESCast stone and natural stone elements can be easily maintained to preserve the attractive appearance and extend the life of the product. When using these procedures, please follow the product manufacturer’s instructions regarding the use of any equipment or cleaning materials described here.

DURING CONSTRUCTION:Cast stone and natural stone elements should be protected from staining. Every effort should be taken to protect the units from mortar droppings, sealants, epoxies, paints and other job site materials. Take care to

protect low water tables and bands with masonry above from mortar droppings during construction.

Stair treads and pavers: After installation, cast stone stair treads should be protected by covering with a non-staining protective covering during the rest of construction to prevent damage, stains or chips from trades persons and equipment.

Preventative protection is the best solution for a clean finished project.

MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES:Job site dirt and mortar:Most dirt can be removed by scrubbing with a mild detergent and water. Mortar stains require removing excess mortar, care taken not to scar the stone followed by the brushing of a solution with a commercial cleaner designed specifically to remove mortar. Do not use steel or other metal brushes. Use Nylon or plastic brushes only.

Consult the adjacent materials manufacturer (brick, windows, glazed tile, other masonry, etc.) prior to applying cleaning solutions to trim items.

Paint, Hydraulic Fluid, Oil, Rust, Grease, Asphalt / TarThe cause of a stain needs to be established in order to discern the appropriate cleaning solution.

Once the stain is identified the appropriate cleaning solution can be used.

To spot clean stains from cast stone and natural products, follow the cleaning solution manufacturer’s directions. More difficult and deep set stains may require the use of a poultice (a blend of fine clay and cleaning solution) that gets trowel applied to the surface. It must stay on for 4-48 hours, repeat applications may be required. The “pulling” action of the poultice will draw the stain into the poultice paste for easy removal.

SEALERS / WAXES/ COATINGS:You may decide to seal the cast stone and natural stone units, there are formulations specific for water, oil, grease and graffiti. Choose a product based on the intended use and desired result. Please follow the manufacturer’s instructions for surface preparation, application and periodic maintenance.

CHIPS/ CRACKS AND CRAZING:

CHIPS: during construction cast stone elements may become chipped. Any chip visible from a distance of 20’ or greater should be repaired. Typically chips less than 1/4" inch are left alone. Chips can be repaired easily with patch kits from Corinthian Cast Stone. Please follow directions included with patch kits.

CRACKS: most cracks can be repaired. The cause of the restrained movement needs to be identified and resolved, the crack should be epoxy injected and then grouted.

CRAZING: aka map cracking, while unsightly crazing has no structural or durability significance and is not a cause for rejection. Since crazing is only on the surface, the visual attributes can usually be removed by washing the affected areas with a mild acid solution. Severe cases of crazing may require application of a siloxane sealer, following etching, to penetrate the cracks and to keep dirt from settling into the surface.
