■ The Japanese market for anticancer therapies islikely to reach ¥415 billion* in 2006, according to areport published by Japanese market researcher FujiKeizai. In addition, the anaesthetic/muscle relaxantsector is expected to expand from ¥50.5 billion in2004 to ¥51.1 billion in 2006, and theimmunosuppressant sector from ¥34.7 billion to¥39 billion over the same timeframe. The domesticmarket for anticancers, anaesthetic/muscle relaxants,immunosuppressants, in vivo diagnostics, disinfectantsand nutritional supplements together is expected togrow from ¥955.6 billion in 2004 to ¥996 billion in2006.* Japanese yen
