Dear applicants,

In order to fulfill the demand of international students applying for Japanese universities, JCAEMCE has been holding

"Japan University Examination (JPUE)".

In the 2020 fiscal year, more than 5,000 students from five areas—Shanghai, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, and the

Philippines—are challenged to study in Japan through this examination.

Unlike the traditional study abroad method, this system has three characteristics that distinct us from others method.

"No prior learning in Japanese" "Application possible in the field you want to study" "No require to go to Japan until

admission to university"

The standard route for studying at a university in Japan, which is "Study at a Japanese language school and then apply

to a university", is no longer necessary. This is a new way to study abroad that burden of student can be reduced.

I hope students who are interested in studying in Japan will take a first step in their life by challenging this examination.

１ Implementation summary

Exam name：Japan University Examination (JPUE)

O b j e c t i v e s ： For those who wish to study in Japan, the basic academic achievement evaluation and interview

examination will be conducted in this examination, and the admission conditions will be presented in

accordance with the admission policy established by each university.

In addition, we will provide local education on basic Japanese language skills, which is the admission

standard established by the university, and provides support and support for university admission without

the need to visit Japan.

２ Admission policy

Universities participating in this examination have admission policies in their respective faculties and departments, and

they are looking for students who have the following philosophy that is common to all universities and departments.

Students we will offer admission to should.

１．Possess Japanese-language proficiency to study in Japan,

or keep learning Japanese language persevering before studying in Japan,

２．Possess relevant basic professional knowledge of their majors in Japanese universities,

or keep learning professional knowledge persevering before studying in Japan,

３．Be self-disciplined, motivated and hungry for knowledge.

Become professionals after graduating from Japanand would like to devote themselves to the

globalization led by Japan after graduation.

３ Exam to admission process

The "Japan University Examination (JPUE) " consists of two tests, "Written Exam / Practical Exam" and "Interview

Exam". Students who meet the admission policy and judged based on the results will be notified of the "Pre-admission"

from each university.

"Pre-admission" is presented as an individual offer to each student, and includes the conditions for admission

(admission fees, tuition reduction / exemption conditions, scholarship conditions, dormitory and support system

overview, etc.) and final examination conditions.

In addition, if the university is required to take "preparatory courses" for the pre-admission notifier, it is necessary to

take the designated "Preparatory courses ".

"Preparatory courses" included curriculum of "Japanese" and "Japanese culture", etc. This is a program that provides

a total of 360 classes (about half a year) for 90 minutes per class. The goal is advanced Japanese language ability (N2 or

higher in JLPT) to understand Japanese university classes.

Lastly, after meeting the conditions presented at the time pre-admission. Application procedure set forth in the

university application guidelines will be followed, and admission will be permitted based on the final examination

decision.

5 Registration qualification

Students who meet the requirements ① and ② below are eligible to take JPUE.

① A person with a nationality other than Japan.

② Those who are expected to obtain a status of residence and university entrance under the Immigration Control and

Refugee Recognition Act in Japan.

6 University application qualification

Applying to a university using JPUE, it is necessary to satisfy one of the following requirements ①・② and ③-1, 2, or 3.

※Application qualifications vary by area and university. Please check the application guidelines of each university for details.

① A person with a nationality other than Japan.

② Those who are expected to obtain a status of residence and university entrance under the Immigration Control and

Refugee Recognition Act in Japan.

③-1 Those who are expected to complete 12 years of education by March 31, 2021 and are eligible for university

admission, or who are equivalent to this, and who reach the age of 18 by March 31, 2021.

③-2 Students who have completed a course of 12 years or more in school education or have higher academic abilities

are recognized by exams (International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, Abitur qualification, Baccalaureate

(France), etc.). Those who reach the age of 18 before March 31, 2021.

③-3 Those who have not graduated from high school due to reasons such as dropping out of school, have passed the

examination equivalent to the Japanese high school graduation degree certification examination and have reached

the age of 18 by March 31, 2021.

Philippines

Meet all ③ requirement even in the following cases

③-a High school education + university education total: 12 years

③-b studied at a university in the Philippines and have a eduaction of 12 years or more combined with your high

school education.

Application qualification is not satisfied in the following cases.

・If you have less than 11 years of education and are currently studying in the new KTO12 late program or

university

・If the total educational background is less than 11 years and the student is currently studying in the new KTO12

late program or university, the 12-year education does not end before March 31, 2020

Malaysia

Meet all ③ requirement even in the following cases

③-a Those who are expected to complete 11 years of education by December 31, 2019, have SPM qualifications,

or equivalent, and reach the age of 18 by March 31, 2021

Acceptance for September admission ※Only for first term Only for first term, universities that accepted admission in September 2020 will also participate.

When applying to a university for admission in September 2020, in principle, it is necessary to satisfy one of the following

requirements ①, ② and ③-1, 2, or 3.

or who are equivalent to this, and who reach the age of 18 by August 31, 2020 ③-2 Students who have completed a course of 12 years or more in school education or have higher academic abilities are

recognized by exams (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, Abitur qualification, Baccalaureate (France),

etc.). Those who reach the age of 18 before August 31, 2020. ③-3 Those who have have passed the examination equivalent to the Japanese high school graduation degree certification

＜Notes＞

・Transfers and admissions to graduate schools are not supported in this exam.

・Students under the second grade of high school might not meet the application qualifications for admission in April

2021, but some student are selected as candidates for admission in April 2022.

・If any of the following applies, or if you are unsure about the qualifications for applying to a university, be sure to

contact us using the "Prequalification Examination Form" on the application site.

7-3 Personal registration page

7-3-2 Examination fee payment

The application fee and payment method vary depending on the location. Please refer to the application

website for details.

・Application fees once paid cannot be refunded.

・If payment is not made by the due date, the "Basic Application Data" may be deleted.

・If you have a coupon, enter the coupon code during the payment.

7-3-3 External test related (optional)

When uploading 3 or more documents, please upload the files together by compression.

Please upload the gradebook or grade prediction table of the graduation high school

(prospect) that you graduated from (the subjects taken, the scores, and the original

electronic data).

In addition, when requesting a transcript from a high school, if you need an application form

from our foundation, please download it from the application site, fill in the necessary

information, and submit it to the high school. If the transcript is sealed, please mail it to the

office without opening it.

7-4 Other / Notes on application

・Applications must be completed by 23:59:59 on the application deadline for each period.

・Applications will not be accepted if the application is incomplete. However, the Secretariat may contact you

regarding the deficiencies only if there is a time before the deadline.

・Changes to the language of questions after application are not allowed.

・Changes to the subjects will not be accepted after application.

・As a general rule, information and application costs regarding applications that have been accepted will not

be returned.

・The electronic examination slip will be sent to the registered email address within 3 days after the application

deadline. If you do not receive admission ticket data after the deadline, please contact the secretariat.

・If the content or data submitted at the time of application contains forgery or misrepresentation, it will be

considered a misconduct and disqualified. In this case, any documents and materials already submitted,

participation fees, admission fees and tuition fees will not be refunded at any time.

8 Writing test

8-7 About calculator usage

Depending on the country of implementation, the calculator can be used. Refer to the following for the models

that can be used.

Bringing in an undesignated model or using a modified calculator will be disqualified and disqualified.

Hong Kong：For written examinations other than English subjects, only calculators (official calculators)

that are officially approved for use in Hong Kong's unified exam "DSE" are allowed.

T a i w a n：For written examinations other than English subjects, only the "Calculator with only four

that are officially approved for use in the Unified Test "UEC" in Malaysia are allowed.

Philippines：Use of the "Calculator with only four arithmetic functions" is permitted for written

examinations other than English subjects.

8-8 Written exam exemption by re-examination * Excluding the Philippines

If you wish to retake the exam, you can take only the interview using the previously written exam score.

The score of the written examination that can be used is only for the examination in the same year.

Applicants will be exempt from the written examination only after obtaining approval after contacting the

secretariat at the time of application.

However, the application fee will not change even if you are exempt from the written examination.

９ Interview test

・Because the applicants are selected by each university based on the application documents and the results

of the written examination, it is not always possible to receive an interview with the first university.

10 About Pre-admission

If the university determines that the applicant is worthy of accepting by evaluating both academic ability and personality

based on the results of the written examination and the interview examination, the "Pre-admission" will be presented.

10-1 Notification

The pre-admission will be announced on the website in advance.

＜Notes＞

・We will not respond to any inquiries regarding pass / fail by phone or email.

・We do not answer any question regarding offer criteria.

10-2 Types of "Pre-admission"

There are four types of "Pre-admission ", and the final conditions determined for each university according to the

Offer type are presented.

① Uconditional offer ※ Single application

The University will evaluate a student via both academic ability and character if is qualified. Then it is

necessary to attend the "Preparatory Courses" and JLPT N2 相当以上の成績を修める。

② Cnditional offer with interview ※ Single application

The University will evaluate a student via both academic ability and character if is qualified. Then it is

necessary to attend the "Preparatory Courses" and JLPT N2 相当以上の成績を修める, and also to take

the final interview to confirm the Japanese language ability after taking the course. And for the

department of English course, is also categorized in this class where under the examination requirement,

it is necessary to submit the English proficiency certificate held by the candidates as well as taking a

simple English interview.

③ Cnditional offer ※ Multiple application

The University will evaluate a student via both academic ability and character if is qualified, but other

than attending the "Preparatory Courses" and JLPT N2 相当以上の成績を修める, it is necessary to take

a separate designated interview and exam before the final acceptance from The university.

④ JPUE Cnditional offer ※ Multiple application

There will be no offer from university, however to those potential students who is likely to pass if apply,

we will provide an offer. It is necessary to attend the "Preparatory Courses" and JLPT N2 相当以上の

成績を修める, take a separate designated interview and exam before the final acceptance from The

university.

※Single application: Withdraw from other than the desired university and apply only to the desired

university. After passing, you will be required to enter your desired university.

※Multiple application: You can select Offer from two universities. However, the offer will be declined for

non-university universities.

＜Notes＞

・Multiple "pre-admission" may be presented at different universities and under different conditions.

・Depending on the university, you may be presented with a "Pre-admission" that is partly different from

the above.

・"Pre-admission" is valid only for tests using JPUE. It cannot be used for other exams conducted by the

university.

10-3 About the pre-admission

After the announcement of the pre-admission, a briefing will be held for the pre-admission. We will answer a

variety of questions, including consultations regarding the selection of multiple pre-admission, provision of

detailed information on each university, payment related to tuition fees, and content related to "preparatory

course".

＜Notes＞

・When accepting a university pre-admission through JPUE, a contract is required after participating in the pre-

admission briefing.

About the contract for admission fee

If you sign a pre-admission contract, you will be asked to confirm various procedures required for studying abroad and obtain

a student visa.

11 Preparatory courses

If you are required to take "preparatory courses" as the final pass condition of the pre-admission offer, you will need to attend

"preparatory courses" conducted by the Foundation and take the designated courses.

"preparatory courses" is a pre-enrollment, comprehensive curriculum that provides the Japanese language skills and basic

academic skills required for classes at each university, as well as information on how to start a smooth life in Japan.

The learning time differs between areas with basic kanji skills and other areas.

11-1 Learning time

1 class 90 minutes x 360 classes ※Approximately half a year

1 class 90 minutes x 720 classes ※Approximately 1 year

11-2 Study subjects

Basic subjects："Japanese", "Japanese culture and life"

Additional subjects："Literature, Science Mathematics", "Science" (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)

※ Additional courses are only required if specified by the university.

11-3 Course goals (reach conditions)

① Attendance of over 90% of preparatory course program

② Acquisition of JLPT N2 equivalent or above

・Depending on the university offer, you may be required to take JLPT N2 or higher.

11-4 Tuition

The payment method for tuition varies depending on the location. Please refer to the application site for details.

12 Application to target university ~ Final admission acceptance ~ admission procedures

12-1 Application for desire university

By applying the formal application procedure stipulated in the application guidelines of the desired university and

satisfying the conditions presented in the "pre-admission", the university will determine the final admission.

12-2 Admission Procedure

Enter the necessary information on the admission application form designated by the university, attach the

required documents, and apply for admission. Assistant admission will assist in contents confirmation.

13 Apply for visa

After submitting the necessary documents to the university where you plan to enroll, you will be issued a "Certificate of

Eligibility for Residence Status" which is necessary for obtaining a visa. After obtaining the status of residence, we will

apply for a visa.

After completing your visa application, preparations for studying in Japan will begin.

The Foundation will provide support for your study abroad as needed, such as housing arrangements and applying for

scholarships in Japan.

・ A Certificate of Eligibility is issued by the Immigration and Immigration Bureau (http://www.immi-

moj.go.jp/index.html). Even if an admission permit has been issued after the university entrance procedure, a

Certificate of Eligibility may not be issued for some reason. In addition, correspondence about the cancellation of

admission procedure at the time of non-delivery varies according to each university. For details, please check the

application guidelines of the university where you plan to enter.
