• Implemented as a pilot in Delhi, Bangalore

• Works on the principle of citizen participation

WHY LAP IN PUNE?

• Comprehensive ‘development plan’ is for 20 years as per MR & TP Act, 1966

• Delayed approvals

• 2 separate plans: for newly merged and old city area

• Implementation of reservations is difficult – only 30% in case of last DP

• No town planning schemes

• Development is much faster than planning ; vision is city-wide not local

Introduce micro level planning

Create awareness amongst citizens , policy makers

Establish a shared vision amongst citizens for the local area/ ward
