Ice Skating Fundraiser (Divisional)

The Ice Skating Divisional Fundraiser took place on

January 3rd, 2015. Our Hunter Key Club Members had a big

role in the event planning. Lets see how it was like to plan the event. Proceeds went to St.

Jude.

“It was a fun and good experience”

~Tanya Hao

“It was a lot more work than expected; I’m glad that the effort put into planning the

events played off in the amount of people who

showed up and the fun Key Clubber had during the

actual event!” ~Theresa Lin

“There were a lot of logistical details to work out, especially on the day of the fundraiser, but everything fell into

place in the end (and it was so

LTC Information

The 67th Annual Leadership Conference will be taking place from March 27-March 29. LTC is where all the Key Clubs in the New York District gather together for the weekend and reflect on all the service projects that were done during the year. Clubs/members that have done outstanding work are recognized and given awards. There are also several workshops ranging from Public Speaking to Improvisation. It’s a great way to see just how large the New York District is and to meet other Key Club Members. Take a look at previous LTC photos!

New Lieutenant Governor Elect

This year’s new Lieutenant Governor is our very own president, Emily Li! Here’s her picture and interview provided by Humans of Key Club.

"Why did you join Key Club and what does it mean to you?" "I joined Key Club for the community service projects, but I've discovered that Key Club encompasses so much more than that. I've had incredible opportunities to give back to my community in ways I had never considered previously. I have met so many wonderful people who share the same passion as I do, and I have grown as a person and as a leader." "Why did you decide to run for LTG?" "I ran for LTG because I wanted to give back to a club, a division, an international organization that has given so much to me." Upcoming Events/Ask Column

How  come  there  aren’t  a  lot  of  events  in  Brooklyn/the  Bronx?

~Because  we  have  such  a  small  amount  of  club  members  from  those  boroughs,  it’s  difficult  to  find  enough  people  to  go

to  events  in  those  two  boroughs.  However,  our  Projects  Head  has  been  searching  for  small  volunteer  service  opportunities  in  the  two  boroughs  o  hopefully  we’ll  get  to  se  more  events.

I  want  to  have  a  board  position  but  I’m  too  afraid  to  run.  What  should  I  do?  -‐Don’t  be  afraid  to  try  new  things,  but  if  you’re  really  afraid  of  giving  a

speech  then  apply  to  be  a  head  of  a  committee.  Committee  heads  play  a  huge  role  in  the  club,  there  are

multiple  committee  heads  so  apply  to  one  that  you’re  most  interested  in.
