Dear fellow parishioners, I pray you had a wonderful Christmas celebra on with family and friends. I hope you were able to be pilgrims on a journey to discovering Christ in the messiness of life, and not merely a tourist looking for a perfect vaca on. I am currently away on my first break from the parish since I returned on July 1, 2019. I have had a wonderful recep on back to the parish a er 15 years and look forward to being with you for years to come. Many of you are already aware of Fr. Fredy Mancilla’s health challenges for the past six years dealing with a brain tumor and subsequent side effects. Over the past several months Fr. Fredy has experienced some challenging health issues which have limited his ability to effec vely serve at the parish. Effec ve January 1, 2020, Fr. Fredy will go on Medical Leave with no set date to return, thus leaving St. Norbert Parish. It is a most inconvenient me, but with the help of many of my brother priests and deacons we will make it work. Please keep Fr. Fredy in your prayers. He will be working on his health so that he can return to full priestly ministry as soon as possible. What will this mean for us as a parish community? In the short term it may mean some daily Masses become a Communion Services, and Fr. Charles and I may be a bit busier with funerals, sick calls and hospital visits. We will try and honor all of our commitments, but some things may need to be cancelled or rescheduled. I pray that on or before July 1, 2020 we will have an addi onal priest to meet the needs of our parish community. Please keep Fr. Freddy in your prayers. Peace and blessings,

Fr. John
