Mr. Lloyd L. Ross, - 2 - February 15th, 1956.

Our usual clauses covering a Vendors' representative to keep in touch with the work done on the ground before the formation of the New Company, copies of all plans, drill logs, etc., to be furnished the Vendors if the option la terminated at any time, splitting of drill cores and so on will of course be included.

Sylvanite will undertake to do one year's Assessment Work on the Claims.

These are, I think, the points we discussed.

There is, however, one other point. The claims should all be transferred and recorded in the name or names of the person or persons who sign the formal agreement. I forgot to mention it to you, but it is naturally a necessary provision and you should do this as soon as you get the Work question straightened out.

Before you accept this you will doubtless want to make certain ab'-ut the Work and consult your partners. Ten days should be sufficient I should think. If this looks all right to you please sign at the bottom.

I am sending you two copies and one tc Mr. Clare*

I hope we make a mine.

Yours very truly,

Dear Stroud:

Ross claims inof February 17

I have your letter of February U4 re/^t riling the I.!ar:utinse area referred to in your letter as claims nefir Copper Corporation .

Your proposed agreement will doubtless needsubstantial modification in view of the amount which must be spent to keep the claims in good standing if the owner.s got the extension, and I doubt that ve would be warranted in trying to check up on the property before June l in view of the situation mentioned by you in your letter of February 24. Please give this natter consideration, and advise.

In the future, rill you please send copies of such correspondence to l.'.r. Y/alton in Toronto; and the proner course of procedure is to have the offer nade by the ov.ner and have it signed first by hin. This will fti-ve you a chance to check with me and ''r. '/alton before signing anything.

Mr. Well*. T. Moot, President and Managing Director, Sylvanite Gold Mines, Liaited, X02 Krie County Bank Building, BDFPALO 2, Bev York, U.3.1.

Dear Mr. Moott Rg i Rosa Claims - Mamainse Point

While in Toroiito at the Prospector*' Convention I aot Mr. ,toaa who cone OT*T froa Detroit. He had refused by ae.ll to de ci on the baa i e of ay original offer without further protection on assessment work. I discussed this with Mr. Gray before ha left for Tucson and ve decided that a Modification giving us three aontha to determine whether or not ve vant*d to go beyond the first year's work of 720 days would be all right* This glyea us until the end of August. Mr. Ross aooepted this, but without the undertaking - subjeot to our exaaln*tioB - to do a year's work there was no deal, l judged it to be worth 150.00 to tie) up the ground.

Actually I do not bslieve that there is too Buoh to be learned on the ground. On the Ontario Government Ma j ande in 1953 there is shown a 1 irge pit ' and a shaft with 2" to i" of chalcocite in 2 veins. There is no further description. I aa prepared to reoomaend that ve aake the li,POO puyaert and undertake to do 7?0 days work on our present information.

The results fro i the present development on Copper Corporation (lMine) is not yet conclusive. However, had copper been its present price whan that property w .ra offered to us I think that I would hive reooauaended that ve take it on.

In connection with your remarks on hiving the offer sud* by the owner presents) certain difficultly as, in seat oases, I have found it necessary to assume the initiative. I will follow your instructions though there are tiaea when speed is necessary when opportunity offers.

I encloae a copy of the letter to Mr. Ross acoepted by hisu I an alsosending a eopy to Mr. Wilton for his information, though this l e tt r- should besufficient until ve know definitely that we are going to Hake the **,O.O payaent.

Dear Mr. Stroud:

I received your letter of March 10th, 1956 enclos ing copy of your letter of February 15th, 1956 to Mr. Lloyd L. Ross, Detroit Exploration Co. I note at the foot of the copy of the letter is an indication that Mr. Ross accepted the proposal and he has added a condition that unless Sylvanite notify the vendors by August 31, 1956 that they relinquish the option, then they must do a further two years assessment work.

Please advise whether you got abstracts of the claims S.S.M. 29344 to 29361 inclusive. If not,I think I will have abstracts obtained. While your letter is written to and ac cepted by Mr. Ross, it would appear that others are interested. We will, of course, have to know the names, addresses and descriptions of the vendors.

I assume that you will let me know at once whether an agreement is to be prepared and that should be in good time before the first of June to permit all necessary delays in settling the agreement and having it signed.

We missed you at the mining banquet, I walked up and down looki: for you and Mr. Clare. We finally fouid a seat at the press table. Saw Mr. Clare later in the evening. We still had memories of that lovely luncheon we enjoyed with you at noon.

I have several bite of news so will vet r i^ht ir.tc it.Later in the evening I talked with C. C. Ruston who engineer*:! Coppercorp. He said he plans to have their ground flown within the very near future- with instruments of his own design or liicins;. li' you are interested in extending; the area to cover our claims , it could be arranged with him. I mentioned no narrea .

Also I asked him direotly, to what depth drilling should be carried to not n.ies anything in the area. He eaid "Not lese than 5^0 feet After retting back to Detroit- I attended the boat show here and talked with a nan who has cottages and juide service at kontreal River. He eaid he had been at the Conpercorn shaft and that they vert extracting very rir ore. He said about 75 to SO^ cooler. I asked what mineral, calcocite, chalcopyrite? No, Real copper, he a.eant native copper. Anyway, that ie the ruihor .

Kr . Clare telle ice that reports of rich ore at Coppercorp has been published, said he would send you or u.e the clippings. I v, i 1 1 forwar them if they corre here first.

Rg t ROM ClajaaDear Mt. Moot i

I visited these claia* last UodnAsday and found a pit about 40 f M t in diameter vith BOB* 10 feet of wat*r in it. However, come tan feet of we.ll van risible at each end aod ther* la hardly any trace in either end of the chalcocite win, wfaiob nw 11 have contained considerable aaount* of high grade ae there are, •till aany pieces to b* seen on what was the or* duap and where the ore au*t have been cobbed for shipping.

Ho other ore exposures were seen, but noveral diaaond drill holes have been drilled both under the pit and away tram the pit obviously looking for parallel shoot*.

This is not worth doing any work on ax what ore the property nay contain is probably in sjsa.ll shoots whioh would not repay for the labour of locating them.

I have written Ross, releasing the claims, as I had proaisod I would do If we did not intend to do work.

The day boforo I went to thwoo olairvi I visited the Coppereorp. It is a very busy place, with a working he*d- fTUM (timber) and a sampling plant going up. I saw sone or* specimens and aa inclined to think that the ore is very spotty in character and of a type whioh will probably bc difficult to follow.

Dear Mr. Rossi

I an sorry to say that I do not consider that the property ha* good enough chances to warrant doiiyj the large eaouat of vork that would be necessary to locate other ore deposits. It certainly appear* to e* aa though the former operator* nad taken out all the ore in that particular pit and that they had also done quit* a little in looking for continuation of the ore i boo t and alio had done a considerable anount of general prospecting. There Is no doubt in my mind that the shoot they mined va* rieb for they left quite a lot of ore behind the* on the ore du*p. They eeeaed to bate olcsned the pit out laterally and I prpfua-j tun t hart dota the tame vertically, othorvis* they would Dot, have (Silt when they dldj There is practically no ore shoviJic in either end of the pit.

Diamond drilling was also done - I oantiot^ of course, a\y how asuch - both under the adond shoot and *\lso looking for other lensee.

Dear Mr. Stroud:

Re: Preliminary Option from Lloyd L. Ross on mining claims SSM 29344 to 29361 inclusive in Mamainse Area of Algoma .

I received copy of Mr. Gray's letter of May l?th, 1956 to Mr. Moot advising that you had obtained a month's extension of this option, that is, to the end of June. Recently when you talked to me on the telephone in Toronto you advised me that you had looked at the claims and had decided they would not interest us and accordingly the option will be dropped.

If you ha" r e not already done so, I suggest that you notify Mr. Ross of your decision.

Yours very truly,
