January 3, 2021

Year of Saint Joseph Dec. 20, 2020 to Dec. 20, 2021

“In his apostolic letter ‘Patris corde’ (With a Fathers’ Heart) Pope Francis describes Saint Joseph as a beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father, a father who is creatively courageous,

a working father, a father in the shadows. Taking a cue from ‘The Shadow of the Father’ - a book by Polish writer Jan Dobraczynski- Pope Francis describes Joseph’s fatherhood of Jesus as the

earthly shadow of the heavenly Father. The Holy Father wrote Patris corde against the backdrop of the COVID-19

pandemic, which he says has helped us see more clearly the importance of ordinary people who, though far from the limelight, exercise patience and offer

hope every day. In this they resemble Saint Joseph, a man who goes unnoticed, a daily, discreet and hidden presence.”

DONATION OF PUBLICLY TRADED SHARES TO THE BUILDING FUND

Did you know a charity receipt would be issued to you for a donation of shares from your investment

portfolio towards the St. Patrick’s Parish Building Fund?

A charity receipt would be issued to you for the fair market value of the gift on the date it was donated.

This is a donation option you may not have yet considered for the building fund. Please contact the

parish office if you would like to receive more information to donate shares towards the building

fund. - Steve Majoros, Finance Committee Chairman.
