Sd/- Munsiff District Mobile Magistrate Udhampur SPORTS REPORTER JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council (JKSSC) organised a friendly football game to be played between State's top professional club of Real Kashmir FC and departmen- tal team of J&K Police at BSF Stadium, Paloura, here tomorrow. The match, being organised in collaboration with J&K Police, shall take place at 3:00 PM. The game shall be witnessed, as per the invita- tion received here on Tuesday, by Governor, Satya Pal Malik, who has consented to be the Special Guest. A number of other top police and civil officers of the State are expected to be there in the pavilion. Pertinent to mention here that the J&K Government, for the first time in the histo- ry of sports, extended a financial help of Rs 2 crore (spread over three years) to a privately owned sports iden- tity in the State, the Real Kashmir FC. Kashmir based Real Kashmir has earned a name at the national level in the recent past through its per- formance in the League. JKSSC to host Real Kashmir-JKP Football tie today STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: On their return from a eight-day capacity building tour during which they also visited several places in Gujarat, a group of 16 students, eight boys and eight girls, from Poonch interacted with army com- mander in Rajouri District on Tuesday and thanked the army for the experience. General Officer Commanding, Romeo Force, Major General P.S Bajwa interacted with the group at Palma in district Rajouri and exhorted them to work hard, dream big and contribute positively towards nation building, PRO Defence, Lt Col Devender Anand, said. He said the students were returning from a capacity building tour organised by army. The tour aimed at pro- viding exposure to the stu- dents about the rich cultural heritage, diversity and eco- nomic growth in the country, besides giving them insight into some of the industrial and defence establishments in Gujarat. The tour was flagged off on January 14. During the course of the tour, Lt Col Anand said, the students visited Reliance Refinery Jamnagar, IIM, Ahmedabad, Statue of Unity, Gandhi Ashram, Laxmi Vilas Palace (Museum) Vadodara, Khijadia Bird Sanctuary and Army establishments in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Jamnagar. During their visit, he added, the participants had the honour to interact with Governor of Gujarat Om Prakash Kohli and senior army officers. The participants also spoke about the rich experience gained from the tour and thanked the Army for provid- ing such an invaluable expo- sure, the spokesman added. Maj Gen Bajwa flags in Capacity Building Tour of students DDC reviews progress under BADP STATE TIMES NEWS POONCH: District Development Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav on Tuesday convened a meeting to review the financial and physical progress of various schemes and works under Border Area Development Programme (BADP) at DC Office. The meeting was attended by ADDC Abdul Hamid, ACD, CPO, Executive engineers of PWD, PHE and Irrigation, AEE PDD, representatives of BSF and other concerned offi- cials. During the meeting, the DDC reviewed the progress of ongoing development works taken up under BADP and emphasized for timely completion of development works with proper follow up of BADP guidelines and proper utilisation of funds. He also impressed upon the officers to timely submit the utilisation certificates of various works taken up under BADP. The DDC also reviewed the department wise progress of various works taken under BADP. Signature campaign under BBBP held STATE TIMES NEWS SAMBA: To raise the awareness amongst the common mass- es regarding Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Yojana, district administration Samba under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner (chairperson BBBP) Sushma Chauhan inau- gurated signature campaigns at district and block levels on Tuesday. During the second day of week-long celebration for BBBP in district Samba, signature campaign at Government Degree College Samba was held in which students, faculty and other sections of society took part. "Declining sex ratio is a matter of grave concern for the society as a whole and for Samba in particular and to sensi- tise the young generations about such social perils awareness through the signature campaigns are held across the district," DSWO Samba said. Vice Principal GDC Samba Ashok Bhagat, Secretary Red Cross Society Samba Jagdish Raj Sharma, besides other con- cerned, were also present.
