† Pastoral Council: We will meet on Tuesday, January 24 at 7:00 pm at the Parish Office Meeting Room. † Confessions: 7:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 25. † 4th Degree: Chuck Feilmeier and I looked at the Calendar to get a 4th Degree meeting sched-uled. We decided to go with the Fifth Sunday in April. We will have a supper that evening and meeting. So, all your 4th Degree men and wives...mark your calendar. And the Widows of the Deceased 4th Degree are invited as well. More information later. But for now, put a big 4 on your calendars. † Catholic Schools Weeks is coming up fast: We celebrate the life of our Catholic School the week of January 29-Februray 4. On the Weekend of January 29 I have invited both the Grade School and the Holy Trinity Cedar Kids to minister at our two Sunday Masses. The Grade School kids will serve, read and sing at the 8:30 am mass. The Holy Trinity Parish Cedar High School kids will serve, read and sing at the 10:30 am mass. They will also help with communion. Before each of the three masses that weekend we will have little wit-ness talks given by some students: one High School and one Grade School at each mass. So, any EMHC’s assigned to the 10:30 am on Janu-ary 29...the High School EMHC’s will give com-munion. HS Servers will also serve the mass at 10:30 am on the 29th and HS will also do the Lectoring. For the 8:30 am mass, GS teachers will serve at EMHC’s.
Welcome to Janet Creamer. She is going through the steep learning curve to become our new parish secretary. Thanks Janet for coming on board. Welcome Committee: I had a nice meeting with Jean Yates about our Welcome Committee. We need to beef up how we do this in our parish. The office will be producing a new folder with all sorts of information on our parish: the how to’s of all the organizations, contact people, contact information (emails, phone #s). We also need to make sure we welcome all our newcomers in the bulletin. We probably need to be gentle with newcomers. I know as a newcomer, I am overwhelmed with all sorts of details and I deal with this everyday. If you have a job and family to contend with, the details of involve-ment in a parish can be over the top.... the best way to wel-come is to make that visit, and I thank Jean and the Welcome Committee for doing that. One thing we plan on doing is bringing the newcomers a loaf of bread of some sort besides the welcome packet. The longer I am here the more I realize what needs to be done. The snow days allowed me to get a lot of desk work done. I began putting together the Vesper prayer booklets for the Mission. Missions are energizing for me as I seek concretely to renew the spiritual life of the parish by having us experience some good input from speakers and encounter the Risen Lord in the Holy Eucharist. So, once again, please mark your cal-endars: March 18-21. All evening events ought to be can-celed, postponed or not attended for the sake of putting God first for this Parish Retreat: the evenings of Sunday, Monday and Tuesday—March 19-21. And everyone, families included, ought to carve out this time and space for the Lord. The Mis-sion begins on Saturday evening because that is when the International Eucharistic Miracles Exhibition opens in the HT gym. This Exhibition displays in a quiet setting 140 panels each telling the story of a Eucharistic Miracle that took place someplace in the world. Hear is a recent one that took place in Poland:
On December 25, 2013, at St. Jacek parish, while distributing Holy Communion, a Sacred Host fell to the floor, and was picked up and placed in a container of water. After some time it begin give a red appearance. The then-bishop of Legnica, Bp. Stefan Cichy, appointed a Commission whose task was to observe the phenomenon. In February 2014, he removed a fragment of the red matter and deposited it on the corporal. In order to analyze the fragment, the Commission ordered the taking of samples and conducted appropriate tests by different competent authorities. The final judgment of the Department of Forensic Medicine states:
"The histopathological tissue fragments were found containing a fragmented part of the skeletal muscle. The whole image is most similar to the heart muscle...as it appears under the
strains of agony. Genetic studies indicate the origin as hu-man tissue."(continued on pg 4)

(continued from pg 3)
In January this year, I presented the whole matter to the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. Today, according to the Holy See, I recommend that the parish priest, Andrzej Ziombrze, prepare a suitable place for the Relic so that the faithful might give it honor. I also ask for visitors to be provided relevant information and to offer thorough catechesis to help properly form the faithful in their understanding of eucharistic worship. Moreover, I'm ordering that a book be provided to record any graces received or other supernatural events.
I hope all of this will serve to deepen veneration for the Eucharist and will profoundly impact the lives of those approaching the relic. We see this marvelous sign as a special expression of God's kindness and love, Who so humbles Himself before man.
I cordially ask for your prayers and I bless you. + Zbigniew Kiernikowski Bishop of Legnica
