PHOTO CONTESTThanks to all who participated in our 7th annual Phone Directory Photo Contest! ETC sta� sifted through all the entries and pared the submissions down to the top 10. The public then had a chance to vote to determine the �nal �ve winners. Now, the results are in. These �ve winning snapshots will be featured on the cover of ETC’s 2019 directory, mailed this spring to thousands of households throughout Southeastern Indiana. Be watching for their pictures on the new ETC directory, arriving in your mailbox in April! Congratulations to Christina Newby and Beverly Wilson of Greensburg; Jennifer Crague of Milan, who had two photos in the �nal �ve; and Terry Sylvia of Guilford.

ETC SCHOLARSHIPAPPLICATIONS

Attention class of 2019: ETC’s scholarship application is now available! ETC will be awarding a total of six scholarships: one for $5,000; two at $2,500 each; and three for $1,000 apiece. Graduating seniors (including home-schooled) from each of the following counties in ETC’s �ber and/or wireless markets are eligible to apply: Dearborn, Decatur, Franklin, Je�erson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, Switzerland and Union.

All students are given equal consideration, with no guarantees for a winner from any given school. ETC scholarship applications must be submitted to ETC (Attn: Anita Fledderman) by March 29, 2019. Applications for the ETC Scholarships are available at local high school guidance o�ces, or online at https://etczone.com/scholarships/. These can also be picked up at any ETC o�ce.

Each year, ETC is also eligible to sponsor high school seniors for the FRS (Foundation for Rural Service) Scholarship which is in cooperation with NTCA (The Rural Broadband Association). This award is presented to rural America’s students who have a desire to return to a rural community following graduation. The general FRS Scholarship is $2500 and awarded to one student within each of the NTCA’s six geographic membership regions. Several other FRS scholarships are also available.

FRS applications and more details can be found online at www.frs.org/youth-programs. FRS applications must be endorsed by an NTCA member representative. ETC’s designated representative is Anita Fledderman.
