Greetings from the East, Worshipful Sirs and Brethren,

I would like to thank everyone for the trust and confidence you have entrusted with me. I certainly am honored and pleased to say that I will do my very best to rule and govern the lodge with equal regularity. It is with confidence to say and for everyone to know that the newly installed Officers of SGTS #296 will gladly serve to their utmost ability during the upcoming 2018 Masonic Year. Allow me to express my sincere gratitude to the Installing Team, headed by WBro. Jeff Tan as the Installing Master, WBro. Romeo Quinto as the Master of Ceremonies, WBro. Danny Salcedo as the Chaplain, WBro. Rey Toledo as the organist, Bro. Hermie Zunega for the Benediction and lastly, Bro Dave Winesett as the EMCEE.

As expected, the ceremony went very well and as planned. The Lodge was filled to capacity with brothers, sisters and families. My heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Past Masters of SGTS and other Lodges and their families as well who came to witness the installation and to show their support to the newly installed officers and their families. To all the brothers, who tirelessly prepared the food, to Sisters Nannette, Angie, Norma and all the sisters who prepared the corsages and Flowers and to all of the brothers and sisters who decorated the hall, and set up tables, I am indebted to your kindness and unwavering support.

It is also the time of the year to thank all our gorgeous ladies in our Lodge, who have committed their time, patience, and support. They gave us strength, understanding, and unconditional support in all our undertakings and commitments.

I would also like to thank the Kitchen crew headed by Bro. Amado Supnet, Bro. Ray Cuz, Bro. Mike Lim, Bro. Charlie Ballestamon,Bro Hermie Zuniga and in the other crew headed by Bro. Vic De Guzman, Bro. Jun Asperas, Bro. Hermie Flores, Wbro. Celso Maranon, Bro. Claro Abordo and crew and all brothers and sisters for sharing their culinary arts expertise and making sure our brethren and guests are well feed before and after labor in all our lodge installation, functions and social activities.

Through the cooperative efforts of all we were able to meet our commitments and challenges, and together we have fostered peace, harmony, tranquility and brotherly love.

Thanks to you all, my brothers and sisters, I am indebted to all of you and “May brotherly love prevail and let Justice be the guide of all our actions”. Have a safe and fun filled Holiday and God Bless you all and God Bless America!!

By the square, Art Coloma, MASTER 2018 SGTSL #296

From the West: Worshipful Sirs/Brethren,

Happy New Year to you and your families! As we welcome this new calendar year, we also welcome a new masonic year. Let us all support Worshipful Art in making this year as much a success as it was under Worshipful Lito. 2017 has set a high bar for us to strive for but as a lodge, with a combined and concerted effort, we can meet it.

Having the honor of being elected Senior Warden this year, I am grateful for another opportunity to serve our lodge. Our lodge has very capable brethren, both in the line of officers and not, who are very proficient in our rituals and I am excited to work with you all. Also, if you are interested or even just thinking about joining the line of officers, please don’t hesitate to talk to me - we can always use your talents.

Worshipful Art has plenty planned for us this year so we will be very busy. And so now that the holiday season is over and the New Year has begun, let’s get out there and continue the great work our predecessors have done.

Will see you On the Level, Bro Patrick Carreon Senior Warden 2018 - SGTSL #296

From the South: Worshipful Sirs and brethren, Greetings from the South,

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a Happy New Year. As I reflect upon the concluding masonic year, I say with deep reverence what a GREAT and PROPEROUS year 2017 was! We welcomed nine new brothers to our ancient and honorable fraternity. We hosted numerous fundraising events to support the raising a reader program for our district. We hosted our annual golf fundraising event, surpassing our previous total, and setting a new record for money raised. We marched in unison in the North park Toyland Parade while smartly representing OUR lodge. Most importantly, we did this together, not you or I but WE; as a fraternity, as a lodge and as a family, made a difference.

Our upcoming masonic year promises to be one full of fruition and philanthropy, which we cannot meet without your everlasting support, example being in the kitchen, which I would like to sincerely thank the following individuals who provided their culinary magnificence throughout the year: Brothers Ernie Bautista, Rey Cruz, Amado Supnet, Mike Lim, Charlie Ballestamon, Hermie Zuniga, Tony Bersamera, Ed Camerino, Vicente Deguzman, Jun Aspiras and WBro Ontingco of Claude H. Morrison Lodge and Worshipful Art Coloma, Bravo Zulu on a job well done! Let’s make the magic happen again this year! Another special thanks goes to our out-going Master, Worshipful Lito Oxina, whose leadership, dedication and flawless planning ensured 2017 was a huge success! Surely, a Mason’s-Mason to emulate.

In Closing, I leave you with my mantra: I am not the hammer nor the anvil, nor the metal or the fire, but I am the force that is exerted to shape a change. . By the Plumb Brother Caesare "Chez" Torres Junior Warden 2018
