Marble Bar children and families enjoyed a fantastic Christmas Party at the RSL Memorial Park on the afternoon of Saturday 12 December organised by the Marble Bar Progress Association
and sponsored by Atlas.
Marble Bar Volunteer Fire & Emergency Services Unit provided a Jumpy Castle which the children enjoyed immensely….lining
up and jumping until it was too dark to continue.
A tasty Barbeque was provided for all to partake with juices and cool refreshing water for those in attendance.
Father Christmas rolled in on the back of the VFES Unit’s Fire Truck, sirens blaring...much to the children’s delight as they
gathered round in excitement to catch lollies and welcome him to the park. Thank you Atlas.
The children gathered around Father Christmas in anticipation as their names were called out and they came up to receive
their gifts with joy.
The park rang with laughter as the children ran about, playing with their new toys, relishing their fun times until darkness fell.
Everyone headed home content , after a fun afternoon, a great meal and an early Christmas present.
We wish Everyone in Marble Bar and Nullagine a Prosperous and Happy New Year

The Christmas Season brought lots of activity to Marble Bar and Nullagine kicking off with the Lighting of the Christmas Tree in both towns in early December.
Nullagine Remote Community School had their end of year School Presentations and Marble Bar Primary School enjoyed a fantastic evening with their School Concert & Presentation Night at the Civic Centre. The Marble Bar Progress
Association hosted the Town’s Annual Christmas Party at RSL Memorial Park which was enjoyed by all the kids and parents alike. Father Christmas arrived on
the MB Volunteer Fire & Emergency Services Unit Fire Truck handing out lollies and presents to the joyful children. A big Thank You to Atlas for sponsoring the Christmas Party and to the MB VFES Unit for the Jumpy Castle which was a big
hit with the kids. The MB CRC & Shire of East Pilbara partnered for the Thank a Volunteer Day at the MB Swimming Pool with everyone enjoying the
presentations and a great BBQ. The town was quiet on Christmas Day apart from
the blaring sirens of Marble Bar Police as they toured the town giving out bags of lollies to the happy children. The town’s orphans gathered at the Iron Clad Hotel
to share food and good cheer on Christmas Day away from their families and the ICH was the place to be for New Year’s Eve. The Marble Bar and Nullagine CRCs
would like to wish everyone a Happy & Prosperous New Year.

Exquisite Cruelty
The sickening crackle of flames at-tracted the attention of residents near the Circus Maximus in Rome July 18, 64. Trumpets sounded the alarm, but winds whipped the fire into an inferno that spread across the Eternal City, roaring unchecked for a week. Thou-sands became homeless. Rumors circulated that the fire had been started by the emperor himself—twenty-six-year old Nero.
Nero had become emperor ten years before, and almost from the beginning, the teenage emperor had gorged himself with eroticism. He arranged the murders of his mother, wives, rivals, and enemies. At the same time, he won praise for his artistic and a thletic pursuits. He began thinking himself a god, though he was actually “a degenerate with swollen paunch, weak and slender limbs, fat face, blotched skin, curly yellow hair, and dull gray eyes.”
The arson rumors began because Nero had been wanting to raze and rebuild large portions of Rome, planning to rename the city for himself. A fire, people assumed, was just what the emperor had ordered. To divert blame, Nero pointed a finger at Christians. Tacitus wrote that the followers of Christ “were put to death with exquisite cruelty, and to
their sufferings Nero added covered with skins of wild beasts, left to be devoured by dogs; others were
nailed to crosses; numbers of them were burned alive; many, covered with inflammable matter, were set on fire to serve as torches during the night. “Peter and Paul, according to tradition, were among the martyrs.
But what of the young emperor himself? Four years later he died, too, trembling and terrified in a cold cellar four miles from Rome while hiding from his own army.
Trying repeatedly to commit suicide, he faltered and failed until a friend helped him plunge a dagger into his throat.
But within a short time the church in Rome was stronger than ever, and St Peter’s Cathedral stands today on the very spot where Christians were tor-tured in Nero’s Circus.
1st Peter 1:5,7 You have faith in God, whose pow-er will protect you until the last day. Then he will save you, just as he has always planned to do….. Your faith will be like gold that has been tested in a fire.
