We stayed here for a year and are now in a Supportive Housing apartment. It is so nice to have a place of our own.‖ Adela - ― I like alcohol. I used to drink it until I would pass out. The last time I did that and came back to the Mission, I was in terrible condition. My body was bloated and my eyes were all yellow. My pancreas doesn’t process alcohol anymore. While here, I’ve learned to let my sin go and to take the process of recovery one day at a time.‖ Thank you for your gifts that will continue to help these and other clients!

On April 9

Congratulations January Program Graduates!

On January 7, 2011, fourteen clients graduated from the Life Skills and the New Life Addiction Treatment Program (our long-term care programs). Below are some of the graduates’ comments:

Shirley - ―I came from a dysfunctional family. I came to here to rebuild my life and I did it. Thank you!‖

Robert - ―Not since 1973 have I been sober… until now!‖

Shamika - ―My daughter and I had been in and out of shelters for over 5 years before we came to the Mission. We stayed here for a year and are now in a Supportive Housing apartment. It is so nice to have a place of our own.‖
