Purpose of the online toolkit The toolkit promotes a planned and progressive
approach to Substance Misuse education in line with curriculum for excellence across educational and community settings that gives consistent messages in relation to alcohol and drugs.
To support staff to take forward learning on Substance Misuse with access to high quality resources and training across the board area (NHS GG&C).
To develop an online resource that can be updated as new methods/information becomes available.

Curriculum for Excellence: learners develop their understanding of the use and misuse of a variety of substances including over the counter and prescribed medicines, alcohol, drugs, tobacco, solvents and new psycho active substances. They explore and develop their understanding of the impact of risk taking behaviour on their life choices. Learners are enabled to make informed personal choices with the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles.
