Age restriction removed

Restricting benefits of JSY up to 2 birthsremoved. In other words, the benefits of the

scheme are extended to all pregnant womenin LPS states irrespective of birth orders

Role of ASHA under JSY

Identify pregnant woman and facilitate registrationfor ANC

an accredited private health institution for referrand delivery

Escort the beneficiary women to the pre-determinedhealth center and stay with her till the woman is

dischargedArrange to immunize the newborn till the age of 14

weeks

Inform about the birth or death of the child or mother to

the ANM/MOPost natal visit within 7 days of delivery to track

mothers health after delivery and facilitate inobtaining care, wherever necessary

Counsel for initiation of breastfeeding to the newbornwithin one-hour of delivery and its continuance till 3-6months and promote family planning
