ISSUE 2 PAGE 5 For Children and Youth For Children and Youth For Children and Youth For Children and Youth Flurries from Chris Over the past few weeks I have been watching a series of movies that one of the youth suggested that I watch. They are a part of the “Love Series.” These movies are set themselves in the time of the old Wild West as families are moving into the Western frontier to find adventure and to create a home for their fami- lies. Each movie builds off of ones that come before it, but stand alone by showing another characteristic of love. Not just any type of love, but the Love of God and love that grows within a relationship. As I watched several of these movies I started to think about the use of scripture and talk of faith through the movie. The more that I thought about these things within the movie, I couldn’t help but think about the importance for us to have the courage and knowledge about one’s faith to talk openly with others about scripture and our own faith. My hope is that over the next couple of months as the youth and I work through a list of 10 Bible stories/ texts that we have come up with, that we may begin to build a foundation built on the use of scripture throughout our lives while remembering the two greatest commandments; “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, strength, and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.” Peace, Chris Schedule January 22 All youth activity night 5-8pm January 29 forms due for Regional Prom and Chi Rho Mid-Winter retreat February 10-12 Chi Rho Mid-Winter Retreat February 18-19 CYF Regional Prom A Little Light from Laurie It seems angels do exist, and I have proof.
