Keep On Learning
Do you want to learn more about a favorite hobby? Maybe you
want to brush up on some skills for work. Do you enjoy learning and not
want to stop? Then why not join a class through Universal Class? It’s
easy! All you have to do is go to the James River Valley Library ’s website
at www.jrvls.org and look for the Universal Class button on the right
side of the screen. Once you click on the button, you will need to use
your JRVLS card number to make an account (this number is found on
the back of your library card).
Once you create an account, you can find courses on a variety of
topics. These courses are available for free! Users can take classes on
Office Skills, Pet and Animal Care, Crafts and Hobbies, Self-Help, Com-
puter Training, History, Spiritual Studies, Test Preparation, Writing
Skills, and much more. After selecting an area of interest, a variety of
classes available within that area will be listed. Click on a class to learn
more about it before committing to joining. Included will be a video in-
troduction, course description, a list of course lessons and learning out-
comes, and a syllabus. Users can also find out who the instructors are
and learn more about them by clicking on their name.
Assignments and exams will be given and users will receive Con-
tinuing Education (CEU) credits and certificate upon successful comple-
tion of a course. What are you waiting for? Sign up today and get ready
for class.

Did You Know?
R.L. Stine was born on

many children’s horror
books. He wrote the
books The Adventures of
Shrinkman, Curtains, A
Midsummer Night’s
Scream, Superstitious,
and When Good Ghouls
Go Bad among others.
However, Stine is probably best known for his best-
selling and wildly popular Goosebumps series.
