James Hollmer‐Cross James has been a dedicated professional surfer for the past 8 years. He resides in Hobart, Tasmania and places 100% importance on his environment and career, because of this he is now a world renowned extreme surfer and big wave pioneer. 

He knows he is fortunate enough to have grown up in Tasmania for the birth of the world’s most consistently publicized wave, Shipstern Bluff. James was not the first person to discover Shipstern Bluff however he was in the first small group of surfers to experience its unique form and power. Ever since James’ first surfing magazine poster was released in 2001, he has lived and breathed Tasmania’s powerful life threatening waves.  

In the past 8 years he has pioneered and publicized four world class waves, exposing the world to his adventures in wave exploration. During that time James has featured in Australian publications such as; Waves magazine, Australian Surfing Life magazine, SW magazine, Tracks magazine, Alpha magazine and Inside sport. Along with overseas publications such as; Surfer magazine, Transworld Surf magazine, Surfing magazine, Surfers Journal, Surfers Path, Wavelength magazine, Carve magazine, Surf Europe, Hardcore magazine and Sports Illustrated. He has also had two photos published in the Herald Sun (Victoria largest publicized newspaper) and regular articles in The Mercury, Tasmania’s largest publicized newspaper. James has appeared on 60 minutes Australia and had over 15 appearances on news programs in Australia and overseas along with Australia’s Sports Tonight channel 7. He has also appeared on Fuel Tv, ESPN America, FOX sports America and international surf DVD productions.

STORM SURFERS 3D MOVIE 

James is currently involved in Ross Clarke‐Joss and Tom Carrolls new big budget 3D Movie STORM SURFERS and he has been guaranteed surfing time and interviews throughout the film. Most of the movie will be filmed at Shipstern Bluff and Pedra Branca which are huge Tasmanian waves and places in which James has local knowledge and skill to convey in the movie.  

As well as the 3D Movie by Storm Surfers there will be publicity on Australian current affairs show’s to provide public awareness advertising the movie. James will also be getting a bio on the STORM SURFERS website with regular webisodes. 

 ‘SHIPSTERNS’ THE DOCUMENTARY  

Southern Cross Television (Channel 7) 

Southern Cross television is doing an in depth one hour documentary on Shipstern Bluff. James and three other surfers, Tyler Hollmer‐Cross, Michael Brennan and Martin Paradisis have 100% creative control over the documentary. It will be shown on Channel 7 Australian wide and distributed globally. It will have separate edits for different markets and Fuel TV have said they want a version, surfing magazines have said they want a DVD cover mount as well.  There will also be a national and maybe global tour for this doco.
