CAREER OPPORTUNITY Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority Invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position: AVIATION SECURITY INSPECTOR JOB SUMMARY The Aviation Security Inspector is responsible for: Providing regulatory oversight according to the requirements of the Jamaica Civil Aviation Regulations 2012, with emphasis on the areas covered by ICAO Annex 17– Aviation Security. This includes the monitoring and surveillance of all operations in the areas of aviation security for industry stakeholders Monitoring the training and certification programmes, manuals, documentation and procedures used by industry stakeholders in the areas of Aviation Security to ensure compliance with the applicable Regulations and Schedules Carrying out and participating in routine and non-routine audits, inspections, surveys and tests as they pertain to aviation security for industry stakeholders Participating in incident/accident investigations when necessary. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE A Bachelors Degree in Airport Management, International Relations or equivalent Five (5) years’ experience in the security field, preferably in an aviation industry environment, to include one (1) year minimum in a supervisory role. KEY TECHNICAL/OCCUPATIONAL COMPETENCIES Sound knowledge of the requirements of ICAO Annex 17 and the security components of other Annexes Sound knowledge of and familiarity with the Civil Aviation Act, Regulations and Schedules Working knowledge of airport, air operator, flight catering, cargo and contracted security operations. General working knowledge of the requirements of ICAO Annex 14 – Aerodrome and Annex 9 – Facilitation.
