The University invites applications from Indian Nationals in the prescribed form for the following posts :

Professor

1. Physical Education : One Post 2. Education : One Post

Qualifications Essential : For Sl. No. 1.: 1. Minimum Eligibility Criteria :

a) A Master’s degree in Physical Education with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in point scale wherever grading system is followed).

b) Ph. D. in Physical Education. c) At least 10 years’ teaching and research experience in a department / College of

Physical Education out of which at least (5) years in the post graduate institution / University department.

2. Desirable Qualification :

An outstanding professional with established reputation in the field of Physical Education and who has made significant contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and use of modern technology in teaching-learning process; Research guidance of doctoral student.

For Sl. No. 1. : One year Diploma in Coaching in any discipline of Sports.

3. A minimum API score of 175 as defined in the Selection Criteria of the University shall be applicable.

For Sl. No. 2. : 1. Minimum Eligibility Criteria :

a) (i) Master’s degree in Science / Humanities / Arts with 50% marks (or an equivalent grade in point scale wherever grading system is followed).

(ii) M. Ed. with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in point scale wherever grading system is followed).

OR (i) M.A. in Education with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in point scale

wherever grading system is followed) (ii) B. Ed. With at least 55% (or an equivalent grade in point scale wherever

grading system is followed)

b) Ph. D. in Education. c) Ten (10) years teaching experience out of which at least five (5) years teaching

experience in a Secondary Teaching Educational Institution.

Qualifications : Essential : For Sl. No. 1 to 7: Minimum Eligibility Criteria :

a) Good academic record with a Ph. D. degree in the concerned / allied / relevant disciplines.

b) A Master’s degree in concerned / allied / relevant disciplined with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).

c) At least a second class “Three Year” Bachelors degree with honours / Major in the relevant / allied subjects.

d) A minimum of 8(Eight) years experience of teaching and / or research in an academic / research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or reputed research institution / industry with a number of good quality publications in reputed journals and / or publication of books.

For Sl. No. 6. : For SC Post :

i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in Philosophy / Sanskrit (Nyaya / Vedanta / a traditional degree equivalent to Ph.D. such as Vedantavaridhi.

ii) A Masters degree in Philosophy / Sanskrit with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed/ a traditional degree equivalent to M.A. e.g., Nyayacharya, Vedantacharya, Nyayatritha, Vedantatirtha etc.

iii) At least Bachelor Degree with Honours / Major in Philosophy or a traditional degree equivalent to B.A. Honours such as Sastri with 40% marks in aggregate.

For General Post :

i) Good academic record with a Ph.D. degree in Philosophy / Sanskrit (Nyaya / Vedanta / a traditional degree equivalent to Ph.D. such as Vedantavaridhi.

ii) A Masters degree in Philosophy / Sanskrit with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed/ a traditional degree equivalent to M.A. e.g., Nyayacharya, Vedantacharya, Nyayatritha, Vedantatirtha etc.

iii) At least a second class “three years” Bachelor Degree with Honours / Major in Philosophy or a Traditional degree equivalent to B.A. Honours such as Sastri.

2. Additional Experiences : a) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses and

use of modern technology in teaching learning process. b) Guidance of Ph.D. students / Research Projects.

Qualification : Essential : 1. For Sl. No. 1 to 8 : Minimum Eligibility Criteria :

a) Good academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) as the Masters Degree level in a relevant subject.

b) At least a second class ‘Three Year’ Bachelor’s Degree with Honours / Major in the relevant / allied subject.

c) The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC (CSIR) or similar test accredited by the UGC like NET / SLET.

d) However, the candidates who are or have been awarded a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 shall be exempted from the requirement of the Minimum Eligibility Condition of NET / SLET / SET.

e) NET / SLET / SET shall also not be required for such Masters programme in disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET is not conducted.

f) Requirement of NET / SET shall be waived if the Ph.D. degree is obtained through a Ph.D. programme abroad in which course-work was mandatory or the screening committee may waive the requirement of NET / SET if the Ph.D. degree is obtained through a Ph.D. programme abroad in which course work was not mandatory.

a) At the Masters level required to satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria.

b) For assessing good academic record throughout the candidate’s career.

The marks in each case mean the qualifying marks without any grace marks and/ or rounding off procedures.

2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided for the minimum eligibility marks of 55% at the Master level to the Ph.D. degree holders who have obtained their Masters Degree prior to September 19, 1991.

Follow instructions for making payment and take print out of the receipt of payment / challan obtained. For making online payments, (a) Net banking, (b) Debit / Credit / Rupay card, (c) Challan (for making cash payment at SBI branches) options will be available. Use anyone of the options for making payment. (from within India).

3. Fill up the blank application form and send the complete application form (one original and seven photocopies) along with attested photocopies of all certificates and testimonials, and a copy the receipt of payment / challan, to the Registrar, Jadavpur University, Post Box No. 17013, Jadavpur University Post Office, Kolkata – 700 032.

4. Please super scribe the envelop with the name of the post applied for and the Advertisement No.

5. Those who are already in service should apply through proper channel.
