Dear Patrons:

On behalf of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, it is an honor topresent to you a transformational strategic plan. This initial processbegan in 2010, and is being implemented now through the 2013-2014 season.

Musicians, board, staff, volunteers, patrons and community membersparticipated with equal voice and a collaborative spirit. This processwas essential in understanding how the Jacksonville SymphonyOrchestra is perceived by various constituencies. At the heart of thisprocess were important questions of what the Orchestra’s mission, vision and values should be for the future, and how to make theJacksonville Symphony an even more relevant community asset.

From this process, a new mission statement was created: To createexperiences that enrich the human spirit and inspire a lifelong loveof music.

The Jacksonville Symphony must navigate through many challengesin the years ahead. To thrive artistically while maintaining financialequilibrium is one of the foremost challenges. Of equal importance isthe mandate to be relevant in an era of constant change, focused onpatron relationships and community needs.

Implementing this Strategic Plan requires the same collaborativeeffort utilized in the initial process. The Jacksonville Symphonyappreciates your trust and support and we invite you to learn moreabout our strategic vision in this brochure. We look forward toworking with you – and for you – to ensure that the JacksonvilleSymphony Orchestra continues to shine as a beacon forNortheast Florida.

Sincerely,

Stacy RidenourExecutive Director
