• Ruby claimed he was a “patsy” a term used by the Mafia to describe someone set up to take the punishment for a crime they did not commit

• Ruby told Earl Warren he would “come clean” about what he knew related to the JFK assassination if he was moved from Dallas where his life was “in danger” to Washington so he could testify

• Born March 25th, 1911 as Jacob Rubenstein• Ran errands for Al Capone as a boy• Served in US Air Force during World War II

• From 1957-58 he was running guns to followers of Fidel Castro who wanted to overthrow Batista

• Owned multiple nightclubs including the Silver Spur

• Jack Ruby shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald November 24th, 1963

• Ruby held his gun in his right hand pocket the whole press conference

• The official Warren Commission report of 1964 concluded that neither Ruby nor Oswald were part of a larger conspiracy, either domestic or international

• Even though Oswald and Ruby were both “patsies”

• Ruby may have known about his terminal cancer therefore that may have led him to his motives

• Jack Ruby died from lung cancer on January 3rd, 1967

• Ruby was buried beside his parents in a Westlawn Cemetery in Norridge, Illinois
