nameandusethebuttonsthatappeartoChat orCall thecontact.

Foradditionalinteractionoptions,right-clickthecontactandmakeaselectionfromthemenu.IfthecontactisinDoNotDisturborAway ,youalsohavetheoptiontohaveJabberalertyouwhentheybecomeavailablebyclickingAlertwhenavailable .

Contactswithalertswillbeshownwitharedalertsymbol.

Managing Calls

Whenyoureceiveacallfromoneofyourcolleagues,youwillseeapop-upwindowonyourcomputerindicatingyouroptions.YoucanChatreply,whichwillstartaChatwiththecaller,Answerthecall,orDeclinethecall,whichwillsendthecallertoyourvoicemail.

Whenyoureceiveacallfromanoutsidecaller,youwillhaveonlytheoptiontoAnswerorDeclinethecall.

CallerIDinformationwillbedisplayedinthecallalertwindowforbothinternalandexternalcallers.

Whenyouareonanactivecall,youwillnoticeseveraloptionsatthetoprightoftheActiveCallwindow.

Adding Video to an Active Call

Jabberwillautomaticallydetectanycamera,eitherbuilt-inorpluggedintoyourcomputer,foryoutouseinaddingvideotoyourpoint-to-pointaudiocalls.Youmaychooseifyouwishvideotostartautomaticallywitheverycall,orifyouwishtomanuallyaddvideoonacall-by-callbasis.

TosetyourVideopreferences,clicktheMenu buttoninyourJabberclient,thenselectFile>Options .

NavigatetotheCallstabintheresultingwindow.

Selecthowyouwouldlikevideotorespond.IfyouselecttoNeverstartcallswithvideo ,youwillbepresentedwithagreenbuttononthetopof

youractivecallwindowthatallowsyoutoStartMyVideo onacall-by-callbasis.Topauseyourvideoduringacall,pressthegreyStopmyvideo

Docked Window WhenyousignintoJabber,theDockedWindowwillappearatthetopofyourcomputerscreen.IfyouputyourcursorontheDockedWindow,thelargertoolbarwillappeargivingyouaccesstocommonJabberfeatureswhileyouareworkinginotherapplications.

UsingtheDockedWindow,youcansearchforcontacts,enteratelephonenumbertomakeacall,andmanageyouractivecalls.

Telephone Options Whenyoulogintoyourclient,youwillseeasymbolinthebottomleftcornerbelowthelitoftabs.ThissymbolindicatesthecurrentTelephoneOptionsofyourclient.WhenyourclientisinSoftPhonemode,yourclientwillsendallcallsovertheinternetandyoudonothavetobenearaphysicaltelephonetomakeandreceivecalls.Theaudioforallyourcallswillusethespeakerandmicrophonebuiltintoyourcomputer,orthroughanyheadsetcurrentlypluggedintoyour
