* Prayer of adoration

* Affirmation of faith The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Call to confession based on Luke 24 and Acts 3

After Jesus was raised from the dead, he appeared to the disciples. He opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” Therefore, repent, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.

Assurance of God’s pardoning grace Colossians 1:21-22 and 2 Corinthians 5:21

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation. God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

* Hymn of assurance “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” Please sing as directed

I know that my Redeemer lives, and that he shall stand upon the earth,and, though my body be destroyed,yet in my flesh shall I see God!

I know that my Redeemer lives! What joy this blest assurance gives! He lives, he lives, who once was dead; he lives, my ever-living head!

He lives triumphant from the grave; he lives eternally to save;he lives exalted, throned above; he lives to rule his church in love.

He lives, my kind, wise, heav’nly friend; he lives and loves me to the end; he lives, and while he lives, I’ll sing; he lives, my Prophet, Priest and King!

He lives, all glory to his name! He lives, my Savior, still the same; what joy this blest assurance gives; I know that my Redeemer lives! Amen! based on Job 19:25-26, words by Samuel Medley; duke street
