INVITATION Dear Fellow ITF Members The International Taekwon-Do Federation and their host partners, Trenic, have great pleasure in formally inviting your Organisation to participate in the 18th Adult & Senior and 13th Junior ITF World Championships being hosted in Brighton, England, from 26th to 31st July 2016. All teams/individuals participating in the 18th Adult & Senior and 13th Junior ITF World Championships are required to arrive in Brighton no later than Tuesday 26th July 2016. Please ensure that travel arrangements are made accordingly. Please be aware of deadlines for registration and payment. In order that we can accommodate your bespoke requirements, you are kindly requested to comply with the dates advised. Please ensure that visa applications, where required, are submitted in good time. Please check with the British Home Office to check the requirements and complete the application form, where necessary. The Organising Committee is also pleased to announce an ITF International Open Championships (8th Kup – Degree, 7yrs+) to be held on Saturday 30th July 2016. Participants should hold insurance in the event of medical expenses, accidents and loss of personal belongings. Please be aware that ITF Fully complies with UK anti-doping regulations. Any competitor 18+ may be subject to an anti-doping test.

Accommodation and transfers are not compulsory, however countries opting out of the packages offered will be charged US$300 for competitor and coach entry ($150 surcharge) and spectators and Kup competitors will be charged as per spectator fees detailed earlier. Umpires of countries opting to stay outside the packages offered will not be accommodated free of charge. Countries not providing umpires will receive a fine in line with rules and regulations. VIPs on package are free of charge. VIPs outside of package will be charged as a spectator and will not receive VIP access.

GENERAL INFORMATION ACCESS
Rail
Brighton & Hove has excellent rail connections to and from all over the country and Europe. You can find out about national and European rail services by visiting these websites:

Brighton Train Station is centrally located within a 10 minute walk of the Brighton Centre.
Directions from Brighton Train Station to the Brighton Centre: Walk out of the station and head south down Queens Road, when you get to the Clock Tower cross over and follow West Street directly south until you get to the seafront. The Brighton Centre is to the right and less than a minute walk and is situated on Kings Road.
There is a taxi rank situated immediately outside the front of Brighton Station.
Coach
National Express coach travels to over 900 destinations throughout the UK including Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton & Stansted Airport. There is a National Express direct coach service from Brighton to Gatwick and Heathrow Airport.
Ferries
Transmanche Ferries operate a daily, year round classic ferry service between Newhaven and Dieppe. Brighton is only 25 minutes by road or rail from Newhaven.
The Channel Tunnel and other major ports - Dover, Folkestone, Portsmouth and Southampton - are between one and two hours away by motorway and can also be reached by train.
Airports
London Gatwick international airport is 26 minutes by frequent train services and 35 minutes by road from Brighton.
London Heathrow airport is 70 minutes by road, entirely on dual carriageway trunk roads and motorways.
There is also the National Express direct coach service from Brighton to Gatwick and Heathrow Airport.
By road
From London and the North the easiest way to get to Brighton is to connect via the M25 London orbital motorway.

The Brighton Centre is about 45 minutes once you leave the M25; leave the M25 at junction 7 southbound onto the M23, which later becomes A23 directly into Brighton. The road will continue through the City straight to Brighton Seafront where the Brighton Centre is located.
Brighton and its closest neighbours to the East and West are linked via the A27. This is the easiest route to Brighton from both directions. Leave the A27 via the A23 ramp (signposted Brighton), take the 3rd exit on the first roundabout and 1st exit on the second roundabout, this will join you onto the A23 / London Road directly into Brighton. The road will continue through the City straight to Brighton Seafront where the Brighton Centre is located.
As with most cities, parking in Brighton is at a premium so if you wish to drive to the Brighton Centre please be aware that they do not have their own car parking facilities. There are lots of options for car parking surrounding the venue and you can find information on them here.

BRIGHTON Brighton is one of the “coolest” cities and in the top five destinations for tourists in the UK, nicknamed “London On The Sea” - famous for its Beach, the Pier, Royal Pavilion, the world’s oldest aquarium, the Marina and Lanes for shopping, and a wide range of national and international cuisine offered by the many restaurants, attractions, pubs and clubs that are concentrated right on the beachfront. CLIMATE The World Championships take place in the summer. July is one of the warmest months of the year and we hope to experience fine weather however, be prepared as rain is always a possibility. Thunderstorms can be a feature at this time of year. SMOKING As from 1st July 2007, smoking in public places will be prohibited in England. Designated smoking areas are usually signposted. CURRENCY The currency in the UK is Pounds Sterling. Currency exchange is available at banks, foreign exchange offices and hotels. Major credit cards are accepted in most shops, hotels and restaurants. SHOPPING Normal trading hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays. ELECTRICITY
The power supply is 220-240V/50Hz.
TELEPHONE Pay phones are available at the hotels and throughout the city for local and long distance calls. INTERNET ACCESS Internet access is available at the hotels and internet cafés throughout the city.
